Report: Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers Requests Trade

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has requested a trade, per NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

The Raiders have denied his request, per Tashan Reed of The Athletic.

Overview

WR Jakobi Meyers signed a three-year, $33 million deal with Las Vegas that included $21 million guaranteed in March of 2023. In 31 games with the club, Meyers has recorded 158 receptions, 1,834 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. Meyers is entering the final year of his contract and is set to make $10.5 million in 2025.

In May, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal asked Jakobi Meyers if he would want to remain in Vegas:

“Yeah, I want to be here for sure, but that’s all I could really say on it right now,” Meyers said. “That’s business between us and top floor. I’m going to just hold that one down for now.”

Raiders General Manager John Spytek has already signed a few key players from the previous regime to extensions this offseason. However, things may be a little different with Jakobi Meyers. This past April, the Raiders drafted three wide receivers — Jack Bech, Dont’e Thornton Jr., Tommy Mellot. This situation is something to monitor.

The Las Vegas Raiders will take on the New England Patriots in 13 days.
