Cognizant Classic Betting Guide: Bets to Win & Top 20 finishes

Cognizant Classic Betting Guide

With golf betting, you have will have way more lows then highs during the season, but the highs are really worth it. And hopefully my Betting Guide for the Cognizant Classic at the Palm Beaches will be successful this weekend.

Plus, don’t forget to check out our Blitz Sports Media Discord, where I will have my complete betting card and my Top 25 spreadsheet for DFS that’s helped me with a big weekend for The Genesis Invitational.

Now let’s get into this week’s Betting Guide for the Cognizant!

Betting Guide: Bets to Wins

Nicolai Hojgaard (+2150 on DraftKings)

Both of the Hojgaard twins are good plays and bets this week with the overall lack of top talent this week at the Cognizant.

However, I’m going with Nicolai with his strong play off the tee (1st), shot gains: approach (17th) and his bogey avoidance (1st).

And even though PGA National has soften over the last couple years, you still need to approach game to go low.

Plus, Hojgaard is in form to take down a tournament with a T22 at Farmers Insurance Open and a T3 at the WM Phoenix Open.

Will Zalatoris (+3800 on DraftKings)

It’s been almost four years and two back injuries since Zalatoris last win a PGA Tour event. His last win was the 2022 FedEx St. Jude’s Championship.

He enters this week in the Top 30 on Tour in shots gained: off the tee, shots gained: approach, bogey avoidance and Par 4 scoring.

PGA National still requires strong play in approach shots from 150 to 200 yards. He ranks in the 75th percentile or higher in 4 of 5 categories (shots gained per shot, proximity, greens in regulation and good shot percentage).

David Ford (+11500 on DraftKings)

I wanted to give everyone a long shot this week and I was pleased to see Ford highly ranked in this field for the categories I used for my DFS spreadsheet.

He was Top 20 in 9 of the 11, including 8 of those categories ranked in the Top 30 on Tour this season.

On the season, he opened with T50 at the Sony Open, added a Top 20 finish (T13) at The American Express but missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open by four strokes as he finished with a +1.

Top 20 with ties

Sam Ryder (+345 on DraftKings): In five trips to PGA National, Ryder has two Top 10 finishes and has added a 21st two years ago. He’s currently Top 10 in SG: approach and SG: putting.

David Lipsky (+380 on DraftKings): Lipsky has made the cut in both events he has played this season, including T18 at the Farmers Insurance Open. And just like Ryder, he has elite approach play and putting.

One and Done

Nicolai Hojgaard: I believe this is a good spot to take Nicolai. He still hasn’t proven himself against the better players on the Tour just yet in the elevated events, and this field is pretty weak.

Hey, my name is Danny Carpenter and I’m the old man of our group at Blitz Sports Media. I’ve been playing fantasy football since 1993 and seen and played a little of everything in our great game of fantasy football. I’m a true fan of the PPR format and been known to do a spreadsheet or two for NFL DFS. When not consumed by fantasy sports, I enjoy taking vacation with my family, especially to Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Mackinaw Island and Disney World and I love to dabble into sports card trading.
