Future Fantasy Stars: Week 5

Future fantasy stars have continued to dominate college football. Popular targets such as Jeremiah Smith and Charlie Becker are pouring onto their elite resumes, but there are other NFL prospects worth keeping an eye on for your dynasty fantasy draft.

Each week I highlight college football players that dynasty owners should be targeting in their upcoming dynasty drafts. Here are some future fantasy stars from week 5 to keep an eye on.

Bryant Wesco Jr., WR, Clemson

Following a scary spinal injury in 2025, Bryant Wesco Jr. returned to the field with a clean bill of health for the Clemson Tigers this year. After a modest start to his season, Wesco exploded Saturday for 152 yards on 9 catches totaling 21.2 would-be fantasy points.

At 6’2, 190 pounds, the 20 year old junior has a slim frame but is tall with long arms. He’s a smooth mover with sneaky speed from long strides. He has outstanding body control and ball tracking, making him an excellent deep threat and red zone target. Entering the season, he ranked 3rd among my summer scouting WR prospects.

As a fantasy target, Wesco brings big play and red zone ability, giving him a slight uptick in stock. He’s a player who could contribute immediately in the NFL as an X receiver and will certainly stretch the field. Wesco is worth considering in rounds 2 or 3 of your dynasty draft in 2027.

C.J. Carr, QB, Notre Dame

C.J. Carr‘s clean quarterback play has gone under the radar this year, but his progression as a player and impressive showing in week 5 wouldn’t go unnoticed here. Carr accounted for 5 total touchdowns, 234 passing yards and a 72.4 completion percentage on his way to 40.86 fantasy points.

When evaluating Carr during summer scouting, I was critical as most of his production came from 50/50 balls and the short passing game. This year, he’s shown progression in those areas showing a more live arm and ability to work all portions of the field with conviction.

Carr has entered first round consideration for the 2027 NFL draft, which means he could be starting games in the NFL next season. As a potential starter, Carr is worth noting for upcoming dynasty drafts. As a QB, his draft position depends largely on the team he’s selected by, but if your draft takes place before the NFL’s, then you’re getting a level headed QB whose trajectory is on the rise. I would have no problem drafting a QB who is constantly improving.

Isaac Brown, RB, Louisville

Isaac Brown is the big play threat in the Louisville Cardinals’ backfield and he delivered just that on Saturday in a loss to North Carolina State. Brown carried the ball 9 times for 125 yards on Saturday, including a 70 yard touchdown, totaling 19 fantasy points.

This 70 yard touchdown is exactly who Isaac Brown is and will be in the NFL. He’ll never he a high volume, bell cow back, but in a running back committee, he brings speed and explosiveness which results in big plays in bunches.

There’s a place for Brown in the NFL and on your dynasty roster. He’s likely a value pick you can draft late as it’s a loaded class of skill position players. In summer scouting, he finished as my RB7, but has more pop than anyone in the class. Keep an eye on Isaac Brown going forward as he could be an immediate contributor to your fantasy squad if he lands in a favorable place after the NFL Draft.
