Best Sports Betting Plays for March 14th, NBA Edition

What a great time of the year March is for basketball. March Madness is around the corner, and while we all love it, the NBA season is finally picking up some serious steam. Today should be a great day for both college and NBA hoops, so without further ado let’s look at some player props today.

  •  Max Strus O 2.5 Three Pointers (-115 on DraftKings). To me, the line for this game tells the whole story. Just a two-point spread with a game total of 245 points, implying a close and high-scoring game versus the Memphis Grizzlies. While there are a lot of different plays you could make here, I like Strus. No Mitchell for the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight as he is out withan injury, so Strus should see an uptick in minutes. I expect Strus to see the weakest defender for Memphis, given JJJ should be dealing with Mobley, Ja guards Garland and Bane guards Hunter. I think Strus should see a good amount of open looks here, and would be comfortable also taking 4+ 3s at +200.
  • Stephon Castle O 25+ Points+Assists (-105 on DraftKings) Castle, the current favorite for Rookie of the Year, quietly steps into an enhanced role for the San Antonio Spurs, given the news that De’Aaron Fox is now out for the season. I think this is a fantastic spot for Castle to get reps and be more aggressive with the ball in his hands, taking advantage of Charlotte’s awful defense. Castle was already nearing this line even before the Fox injury with totals of 23, 28, 24, and 20 in his previous games this month. On the side of the Charlotte Hornets, I could also see a couple of guys “resting” as they begin their annual spring tank.
