Well, so much of the 33.5 point total in the Tennessee–Cleveland game last week and for my Defensive Streamers.
The Titans almost covered the point total by themselves in their 31-29 win in Cleveland.
These last few weeks have been a tough number to figure out.
But now we are in the fantasy playoffs in Week 15, it’s win or go home!
Defensive Streamers
New Orleans home against Carolina
Carolina has become one of those unpredictable teams this season as it moved into the NFC Playoff bubble at No. 9.
But New Orleans are sneaky as well. The Saints, despite their 3-10 record, have the 12th best defense in the NFL, allowing only 313.5 yards a game. And they are slightly better in the confines of the Caesars Superdome, allowing 300.3 yards a game.
And the Panthers only average 311.2 yards a game this season despite their recent offensive uptick.
Jacksonville home against NY Jets
The Jaguars have been shut down defense against the run this season as they have given up only 82.9 rushing yards a game this season. They been even better in their last three games, giving up only 70.3 yards a game.
Now they face a Jets team that could be down to their third-string QB Brady Cook, who finished the game against Miami after Tyrod Taylor went down with a groin injury. Justin Fields also missed the contest to a knee injury.
The Jaguars will probably stack the line if Cook starts. Cooks only threw for 163 yards and had two interceptions last Sunday.
The Jets are a bottom five offense and that was with Taylor and Fields running the show.
Philadelphia home against Las Vegas
It’s nice to have several teams with very favorable matchups to choose for my Defensive Streamers story, and the Eagles are an easy choice.
The Raiders has the second worse offense in the NFL, averaging only 357.2 yards a game.
The Eagles have been a middle of a road defense for yards allowed this season, but they are coming off a 7-sack game against LA Chargers.
And they have recorded an interception in four straight games. Las Vegas’ Geno Smith is tied for the league lead in interceptions this season with 14 but may miss the game with a shoulder injury.
Kenny Pickett may get the start behind the Raiders awful offensive line as Las Vegas gives up 3.8 sacks a game this season.
Chicago home against Cleveland
I know Shedeur Sanders and the Browns offense exploded last week in their home loss to Tennessee. But it was against a two-win team.
The Bears are not a two-win team. Chicago was the NFC No. 1 seed until their road loss to Green Bay last week. And their defense is a different Midway Monster at home.
The Bears have recorded 15.0 of their 24.0 sacks at home this season, and they have recorded a turnover in six straight games, including 5 interceptions during that stretch. A perfect fit for my Defensive Steamers this week.
Plus, you add in Sanders who has thrown 3 interceptions in his short stint of playing time this season for a 2.9 interception percentage average. The elite QBs in the league average 1.9 or less interception percentage.
