John Deere Classic Betting Guide: Bets to Win and Top 20 finishers

I keep getting close but I can’t bring home a winner for my Betting Guide.

Collin Morikawa’s strong Sunday run gave him the clubhouse lead at the Travelers Championship before the weather delay. But after the rains cleared, Scottie Scheffler and a surging Viktor Hovland finished one stroke ahead of Morikawa. Hovland won the playoff on Monday vs. Scheffler.

This week the PGA Tour pros head to TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois for the John Deere Classic. This tournament has been known to see the early favorites fail to make the weekend and a newcomer takes home the title. Brian Campbell surprised the field last year to win his second tournament in 2025.

My betting card will mirror those thoughts this week.

Let’s get into this week’s plays! Odds are based on DraftKings.

Betting Guide: Bets to Win

John Deere Green Top Plays
Jacob Bridgeman (+3000)

After his win at the Genesis Invitational, Bridgeman has struggled to put together consistent play.

And even though his results have not proved it any different, he seems to be rounding back into shape to make another run at a tournament title.

He enters the week 4th on Tour in putting and has Top 36 stats in birdies or better (11th), par-4 scoring (7th) and par-5 scoring (36th).

He’s gained plus-strokes in 9 of his last 11 rounds.

Jackson Suber (+5600)

Suber has four Top 30 finishes in his last six events, including two T4.

Though his putting can be rather streaky, his approach game is strong enough to carry him on the easy TPC Deere Course.

He enters the week 23rd in shots gained: Approach and has a Top 10 mark in the approach buckets I used this week.

Plus, he’s 13th in par-5 scoring.

Blades Brown (+5700)

I know a lot of betting pundits and DFS players are focusing on Jackson Koivun, but I think Blades is the better play among the talented young players.

I absolutely love him in the bet to win market and in DFS and it’s hard to ignore his numbers despite playing events on both the Korn Ferry Tour (he’s 12th on the Korn Ferry points list) and the PGA Tour.

He currently has a PGA Tour Special Temporary Membership which allows him to have unlimited sponsor exemption the rest of the season.

But his game should earn him his PGA Tour card for next season. He dominated my DFS spreadsheet this week as he is in the Top 20 in 8 of 11 categories I used.

Even though he doesn’t qualify to be ranked in PGA Tour statistics, his standout stats would rank 19th in SG: Approach (19th) and 21st in SG: Putting (21st) – key stats needed this week – and then add in the fact he can score using those two stats (his birdie or better stat would be ranked second.)

Top 20 with ties

Jackson Koivun (+132): I’m a little leery about Koivun if he can make enough birdies for an outright bet, so I’m sticking to Top 20 pick this week for the talented former Auburn standout.

Andrew Putnam (+270): Putnam isn’t going to wow with any stats this week as his game has been more on the downside this year, but he ranked 10th this week on my DFS spreadsheet without the eye-popping stats.

One and Done

Tom Kim: Kim’s game is starting to round back into the shape like it was when his PGA Tour career began – accurate off the tee, strong approach game and streaky putting. Those are all good traits to have to win this week.
