Dan and the Ducks Reload for 2026

The Oregon Ducks Spring Season Began march 12th. Focusing on integrating new coordinators, transfers and early recruits. With many key departures Dan Lanning and staff look to fitting these new pieces into the system and finalize the roster. The Ducks spring game is April 25th, 2026 at Autzen Stadium. Stars will be shining bright with the return of key starters such as Dante Moore, Aaron Flowers, and the long awaited Evan Stewart coming off a Red shirt injury year. Along with many key additions Dan lanning and the Ducks look to reload this spring. 

New Coordinators

Dan Lanning and his new Oregon regime since their first season in 2022 has completely upped the standard. Tosh Lupoi and his defense was stout, ranking third nationally in total defense (251.6 YPG) for 2025. Will Stein’s offense soared into the end zone averaging 44 points per game, ending the 2025 season ranked top ten in total offense. With the overall record of 48-8, it was only a matter of time until Tosh Lupoi and Will Stein received head coaching job offers. Tosh Lupoi will be the head coach of the California Golden Bears. Will stein will now take his offense to the University of Kentucky. In the replaced of coach Lupoi will be Chris Hampton as defensive coordinator, Drew Mehringer will fill the offensive coordinator role for the Ducks.

After the 2026 transfer cycle ended the Oregon Ducks saw 30 players depart the program while adding 16. Most being reserve players seeking playing time and starting roles. Entering the 2026 spring practice season the Oregon Ducks has an overall returning production rate of 66 percent (According to Bill Connelly, ESPN). This Ranks 5th highest in the Big Ten Conference. With this high retention rate for the Ducks, Head Coach Dan Lanning looks to build upon the foundation already set. Here are the Ducks Key Returners.

Offense

  • Dante Moore QB – Returning starting QB, 2025 stats: 3,565 yards, 30 TDs
  • Iapani Laloulu OL – starting center and one of the most experienced linemen on the team. 
  • Dakorien Moore WR  – explosive young WR who had 497 yards in 2025 despite missing games with injury. 
  • Evan Stewart WR – former star receiver returning after missing 2025 with a knee injury. 
  • Jeremiah McClellan WR – productive WR with 557 yards and 3 TDs last season. 
  • Jamari Johnson TE – returning after 32 catches and 510 yards in 2025.

Defense

All starters from the 2025 defensive line are returning.

Running Backs

  • Jordon Davison – Previously dealt with an upper-body injury during the 2025 College Football Playoff run but is back practicing during spring, though sometimes in a limited role. 
  • Da’Jaun “Dink” Riggs – Still recovering and not fully active yet, but coaches expect him to return during the spring period. 
  • The RB room was hit hard late in the 2025 season, but reports say the group is trending healthier heading into the spring game. 

Defensive Line

  • Tony Cumberland (freshman DL) –
    • Involved in a car accident.
    • Will miss the remainder of spring practices while recovering. 

Wide Receivers

  • The WR group dealt with multiple injuries late in 2025, including Dakorien Moore and others, but reports earlier in the offseason indicated positive recovery progress and players returning to practice.
