Maxx Crosby: “I’m a Raider. I’m Back.”

Star pass rusher Maxx Crosby sent a clear message late Wednesday night. The five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro wants to stay in Las Vegas. In a post on X, Maxx Crosby wrote: “Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That Sh*t.”

On Friday, March 6th, the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to trade Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks. The deal was in place, but could not become official until the new league year started. Just a few days later, however, the Las Vegas Raiders released the following statement. “The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time.”

According to the Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical. The Ravens were concerned about his medical and, as an organization, decided not to move forward with the deal. Baltimore quickly pivoted and signed free agent edge rusher Trey Hendrickson roughly 13 hours later.

Before the trade fell through, Maxx Crosby posted a heartfelt goodbye to Raider Nation. During his farewell video, he expressed how much he loves the Raiders franchise. “I bleed silver and black. That will never change, and I am a Raider for life,” Crosby said. “I truly want to finish, when it’s all said and done, in a Raiders jersey. Whenever that time comes.” Perhaps the trade falling through was a sign that he wasn’t meant to be a Raven after all. And maybe, just maybe, Maxx was meant to be a Raider for life. “God works in mysterious ways,” Crosby eloquently said. “Things happen for a reason. I truly believe that.”
