the Memorial Betting Guide: Bets to Win and Top 20 finishers

I can’t complain too much about my Betting Guide last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

If you followed on my Twitter or our Discord FREE page, you would have cashed with Russell Henley winning in a playoff against Eric Cole and I suggested to use Henley as your One and Done pick as well.

And J.J. Spaun and Alex Smalley were both in the mix on Sunday and were not able to catch Henley and Cole to join the playoff.

This week the PGA Tour heads to “Jack’s Place,” Muirfield Village Golf Club for the Memorial. Muirfield is a test of a golfer’s complete bag. Scottie Scheffler is the two-time reigning champion.

Onto this week’s Betting Guide top picks! All odds are from DraftKings.

Betting Guide: Bets to Win

the Memorial Top Plays
Ludvig Aberg (+1650)

Aberg comes into the week was my fourth best golfer on my DFS spreadsheet and he has the skillset to pick up his first win of the season at Muirfield.

He ranks in the Top 25 in six categories: 4th in tee to green, 12th in off the tee, 8th in approach, 21st in around the green, 12th in distance off the tee and 5th in par-5 scoring.

Aberg has six Top 10 finishes and was leading late at THE PLAYERS Championship before falling short.

With Scheffler absorbing much of the win equity in the market, Aberg offers one of the highest upside outright tickets among the favorites. If he has even an average putting week, his ball-striking profile is strong enough to contend deep into Sunday.

Matt Fitzpatrick (+2000)

Matty Fitz has already proved he can take down Scottie at a signature event and his game this season sets up well for Muirfield.

Like Aberg, Fitzpatrick dominates the stat columns on my spreadsheet. He has Top 25 stats in six categories, including 5 in the Top 8 on Tour this season.

And he enters the week with 3 Top 10 finishes at the Memorial, including last year’s T5, and he brings the strongest combination of win equity and course fit.

Tommy Fleetwood (+3500)

Fleetwood has had a down year by his standards, but according to my spreadsheet, he should excel at Muirfield.

The biggest appeal with Fleetwood is how well his game aligns with difficult scoring environments. He thrives when tournaments become grinding tests of ball-striking and patience. His combination of elite iron play, reliable short game, and strong driving accuracy is a proven recipe for success on Nicklaus-designed layouts.

Top 20 with ties

Adam Scott (+144): Scott has struggled in his last two events, but his ceiling makes him a perfect pick for a Top 20. The veteran Australian remains one of the elite ball strikers in the field. Ranking near the top on my spreadsheet in both driving and tee-to-green performance gives him a stable foundation for a strong finish.

Nick Taylor (+194): Taylor was a big surprise on my spreadsheet this week as he comes in as the 10th best golfer. I just wished his number was a little better, but I can’t ignore his recent play.

One and Done

Ludvig Aberg: I said last week I wanted to play Aberg in one of the remaining signature events last week. And this is the week to use him with plenty of confidence.
