Oh, Daniel Berger, you broke my heart last week!
I did not mentioned him in my Betting Guide here, but he was part of my betting card I posted on X last week.
But back to Berger as Akshay Bhatia’s lights out putting on the back 9 forced a playoff at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Bhatia’s par on the playoff hole brought home the title.
This week the PGA Tour heads to TPC Sawgrass for the “fifth major” for THE PLAYERS Championship.
Rory McIlroy is the defending champion after defeating J.J. Spaun in a playoff last year.

Betting Guide: Bets to Win
Collin Morikawa (+2050 on DraftKings)
Morikawa has finally righted his ship with the win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after struggling with his game (his putting is still sticking point) in recent seasons.
And he hasn’t looked back as he has rattled a T7 at The Genesis Invitational and a T5 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
His approach game has returned to elite level status, while his accuracy off the tee will keep him out of Sawgrass’ 4-inch rough. And with some rain predicted the first two days of the tournament, staying in the fairway will be key.
Min Woo Lee (+3900 on DraftKings)
Min Woo is going to be cooking very soon.
The 27-year-old Aussie has put together a nice three tournament run in the best fields. He has finished T12 or better in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, The Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
And he’s done it without a complete game yet. It seems one bad round has plagued him to put a final push toward a tournament win. Maybe this week?
Pierceson Coody (+9000 on DraftKings)
Don’t laugh at me with this pick because Coody showed some resiliency during the second round of the API.
Coody struggled with a 6-over first round before bouncing back in the second round. He was 4-under during that round before a double bogey on No. 17.
He is the longest odds I’m playing with my five Bets to Win this week.
Top 20 with ties
Max McGreevy (+400 on DraftKings): McGreevy got a taste of the signature events as he played at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational so this deep field will not faze him. As for his game, he’s not flashy in any stat column but he’s steady.
Haotong Li (+375 on DraftKings): Li has shown some flashes with a T8 at The American Express and a T11 at the Famers Insurance Open. Li’s shots gained: Off the tee numbers should help him stay in the fairway this week.
One and Done
Morikawa: With Scottie Scheffler not playing like Scottie and if you haven’t used Rory – the back spasms are a concern, I’m would off until a signature event or a major with those two. Then Morikawa it is!
