Valspar Championship Betting Guide: Bets to Win and Top 20s

Valspar Championship Betting Guide: Bets to Win & Top 20s

The withdrawals are putting a hurting on Betting Guide plays.

For the second straight week, my top One and Done play was derailed with another WD.

Collin Morikawa’s back tighten on a practice swing on his second hole of the tournament, and there went another $0 cash in One and Done.

Morikawa was also my top play for my Bets to Win. Another double whammy!

Hopefully, I can shake this bugaboo of bad luck.

This week the PGA Tour heads to Innisbrook Resort on the Copperhead Course as the course features the Snake Pit, the final 3 holes on the course.

Viktor Hovland held off Justin Thomas to win last year’s event.

Let’s get into this week’s Bets to Win and Top 20 plays!

Betting Guide: Bets to Win

Jacob Bridgeman (+2200 on DraftKings)

Bridgeman continued his solid play this year with T5 at last week’s THE PLAYERS Championship, which propelled him to the top of the FedEx Cup standings.

He enters an event where he finished third last year, just two strokes behind Hovland.

Bridgeman leads the Tour in putting which is needed to tame the Copperhead course. But he is also Top 40 in par 3 scoring and par 5 scoring as the course offers a unique layout with five par 3s and four par 5s.

Sahith Theegala (+3600 on DraftKings)

Finally fully recovered from injury last season, Theegala comes into the Valspar in good form.

He has three Top 10 finishes and finished T32 last week at THE PLAYERS and enters the week in the Top 40 in five categories I used this week in my spreadsheet – shots gained: Approach, shots gained: Around the green, shots gained: Putting and par 3 & 5 scoring.

Theegala does have experience playing the Copperhead course with a T36 finish in 2025 and a T7 in 2022.

Ryo Hisatsune (+3900 on DraftKings)

Hisatsune has a been a Top 20 darling for me this season for me this season as he has won twice for me, but I’m taking the bigger leap with a Bet to Win play on him.

But I can’t ignore him as he ranks in the Top 20 in 8 of 11 categories I used this week for the Valspar. This includes 4 categories that he ranks in the Top 20 on Tour this season.

And just like Theegala, Hisatsune has Copperhead experience as he finished T4 last year.

Top 20 with ties

Beau Hossler (+425 on DraftKings): Hossler struggled to begin the season as he missed the cut in his first three events, but he’s back on track with Top 40 finishes in his last two events.

David Lipsky ($490 on DraftKings): Lipsky has one Top 20 this season at the Farmers Insurance Open and brought home a T37 at the Puerto Rico Open.

One and Done

Bridgeman: Let’s hope the curse ends this week with Bridgeman, but he continues to play some elite golf, no matter the course and not matter the field!
