Waiver Wire Stashes: Wright, Shough stock improve for Week 15

Waiver Wire Stashes Week 15

The Waiver Wire Stashes for Week 15 are focusing on key late season starters or strong hand-cuffs as you enter the fantasy playoffs.

I have a couple of starters that could play a role in deeper leagues and two hand-cuffs who can play big roles in their offenses if the injured starters miss time or continue to miss time.

Let’s get into this week’s Stash Can players!

And a key note on rostered percentages – Sleeper has more dynasty leagues and its percentages are extremely high compared to Yahoo! and ESPN, who canter to more re-draft leagues.

Waiver Wire Stashes

Jaylen Wright, Miami (3 percent Yahoo!, 2 percent ESPN, 59 percent Sleeper)

Wright had been used sparingly since missing the first two games of the season from a minor right knee surgery. And his usage was a big surprise after De’Von Achane’s second-quarter rib injury forced him to miss the rest of the Dolphins’ win against NY Jets.

Wright played 52 percent of the snaps and finished with 24 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown. His previous high for snaps was 16 percent, twice.

Now it appears Wright has surpassed Ollie Gordon as the first choice to carry the load if Achane were to miss some time during the fantasy playoffs.

Achane avoided any broken ribs and is expected to be ready for Miami’s Monday night against Pittsburgh.

Tyler Shough, New Orleans (8 percent Yahoo!, 6 percent ESPN, 77 percent Sleeper)

Heading into the game against Tampa Bay, Shough was showing growth in the passing game in his four starts. He was averaging 235 passing yards a game.

Then he showed he can use his legs, too.

The rookie QB had 55 rushing yards and two TDs to help the Saints to an upset win against their NFC South Division rival. He also added 144 yards passing in the soggy game in Tampa.

After Sunday’s game, Shough has three Top 12 QB finishes in his five starts, and the Saints face Carolina, NY Jets and Tennessee in their next three games.

In deeper leagues or two-QB leagues, he is one of the top must-have stashes or even a start.er.

Colby Parkinson, LA Rams (3 percent Yahoo!, 6 percent ESPN, 35 percent Sleeper)

Parkinson is finally taking advantage of Tyler Higbee’s absence. Parkinson was signed by the Rams last season from Seattle to fill in at tight end as Higbee missed most of last season from an ACL injury suffered in the 2024 playoff wildcard game.

Parkinson eventually split time with Davis Allen and finished with 30 catches and 1 touchdown.

Now with Higbee out with an ankle injury, Parkinson has been on fire – at catching TD passes.

He had a touchdown catch in 4 of his last 5 games, which includes four Top 12 TE finishes.

Parkinson will have one more week to continue his TD surge as the earliest Higbee can return to the lineup is Week 16.

Luther Burden III, Chicago (17 percent Yahoo!, 16 percent ESPN, 95 percent Sleeper)

Burden III has finally notched a role in the Chicago passing game. He has played the third most snaps among WRs in the last four games.

During the four game stretch, Burden III has averaged 5.5 targets a game and finished with 14 catches for 173 yards and added 21 rushing yards.

As Rome Odunze battles a foot injury and DJ Moore struggles through a down year, Burden III usage should continue to see an uptick.
