This has been a crazy year for injuries as my Waiver Wire Stashes could play key roles in their teams’ respective matchups in Week 7.
LA Rams’ Puka Nacua went down with an ankle injury, Tampa Bay’s Emeka Egbuka and Tennessee’s Calvin Ridley injured their hamstrings in their Week 6 matchups.
As I write this story, the Monday Night games have not been play, so there is a chance of another big injury to happen. Let’s hope we wake up and breathe a sigh of relief.
Let’s get into Week 7’s Waiver Wire Stashes!
WR Stashes
Kameron Johnson & Tez Johnson, Tampa Bay
Kameron, a second-year player know more for his return ability, and Tez, a rookie, stepped up during the Buccaneers’ home win against San Francisco.
The Bucs, who were without regular starters Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, also lost super rookie Egbuka to the aforementioned hamstring injury on Sunday.
Johnson and Johnson will be called upon for bigger roles in the offense in Week 7 as it appears Evans, Godwin and Egbuka may miss the Week 7 road matchup against Detroit.
Tez played 78 percent of the snaps and had a big 45-yard TD catch to give the Bucs’ an 8-point lead late in the third. It was his only reception.
Kameron was a little more involved despite only playing 49 percent of the snaps. He had 4 catches for 64 yards and a second-quarter TD.
The two could still have value later in the season as Evans and Godwin are both older WRs with some injury history.
Jalen Coker, Carolina
Coker is officially in his 21-day window to be activated off the IR, but the Panthers did not activate him for the home win against Dallas.
Coker should slide into the No. 2 WR role in the offense once he is officially activated. The Panthers WR corps, outside of Tetairoa McMillan, are lacking in play makers. Jimmy Horn is on the small side to be competent No. 2 and Xavier Legette has yet to live up to his first-round draft status.
Coker has 32 receptions for 478 yards and 2 TDs last season. His 478 receiving yards was third on the team in 2024.
Van Jefferson, Tennessee
Jefferson filled the role vacated when Ridley went down with his injured and led all Titans’ WRs with 6 targets, tying tight end Chig Okonkwo with team-high honors.
Jefferson was also second on the team in snap percentage played at 74 percent and finished with 4 receptions for 75 yards. Elic Ayomanor becomes the team’s No. 1 WR until Ridley returns.
But, Jefferson, who has averaged 27.4 receptions a season in his six-year career, has plenty of experience to help Ayomanor handling the passing receiver roles as the offense will look different in the coming weeks as the Titans fired head coach Bill Callahan.
RB Stashes
Bam Knight, Arizona
Knight was the surprised starter for the Cardinals in their road loss to Indianapolis.
Michael Carter was the starter and snap share leader in Week 5 for Arizona, but Knight took over the role as he held a 51-44 percent edge over Carter.
However, Knight only had two more carries than Carter, and Carter led the backfield with 5 targets.
But going forward, I would say Knight will continue to have a slightly better role than Carter until Trey Benson comes off IR.
This backfield is still in flux but if you were able to grab Carter last week, and Knight is still available on your waiver wire, you should snatch up him too.
