Week 4 fantasy football usage brought new lead running backs, re-emerging receivers, and solid production from multiple tight ends. Here are the essential usage takeaways from week 4.

Running Backs

Omarion HamptonChargers

  • Played nearly 90% of the Chargers’ offensive snaps in the first game without Najee Harris.
  • His 88.9% snap rate was the most for a running back among the first nine games of the week. Only five RBs have played a higher percentage of snaps in a game this season.
  • 88% snap, 100% rushing attempts — Hampton season has arrived.
  • Back-to-back games with 24+ fantasy points.
  • Caught all five of his targets for 37 yards (11 receptions for 96 yards over the past two games).
  • Secured RB1 role for Week 5 versus the Commanders.

Ashton JeantyRaiders

  • Positive matchup versus the Bears: rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
  • Added two receptions for 17 yards, both going for scores.
  • Displayed high-end contact balance and explosiveness; potential bump in pass game usage.
  • Faces Colts in Week 5 as a lower-tier RB1.

Cam Skattebo Giants

  • Saw 25 carries in his first start of the season without Tyrone Tracy.
  • Led the NFL in touches in Week 4.
  • 25 rushes for 79 yards, plus 2 catches for 11 yards and a 2-point conversion.
  • With Malik Nabers out and Jaxson Dart starting, extra targets could flow Skattebo’s way.

Trey BensonCardinals

  • Played 55% of snaps, lost third-down role to Emari Demercado.
  • Still earned 72% of backfield opportunities, including a 12.2% target share.

Woody MarksTexans

  • Snap shares rising: 11.1%, 26.5%, 47.6% → 56.3% in Week 4.

  • With Chubb declining and Mixon uncertain, Marks could play a huge role.

  • Snap share up to 31.3% (hadn’t topped 27.4% before).
  • Earned 35.5% of backfield opportunities.
  • Nearly matched Kamara in carries (11 vs. 15), rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown.
  • Four straight weeks of increased usage; Kamara at season-low 73% snaps.
  • Double-digit carries for the first time in Week 4.

Quinshon JudkinsBrowns

  • Workhorse role: 21 carries, 82 yards, and a touchdown.
  • Best receiving game yet: 4 receptions on 4 targets for 33 yards.
  • With increased pass-game involvement, profiles as RB2 moving forward.

Brashard SmithChiefs

  • Converted WR with athleticism and strong receiving skills.
  • Played 26% of snaps, saw 8 opportunities (4 targets = 25% of RB opportunities).
  • Emerging as a potential receiving weapon for Mahomes.
  • Chiefs’ backfield workload now split three ways (Pacheco, Hunt, Smith).

Wide Receivers

George PickensCowboys

  • Saw 11 of 38 team targets, stepping into CeeDee Lamb’s WR1 role.

Chris Godwin Buccaneers

  • Played 81% of snaps in return from 2024 ankle injury.

  • Caught just 2 passes; another dud week.
  • Playing 93.1% of snaps, but usage minimized with run-heavy Eagles offense (61% rush rate with lead).
  • Low-end WR2 based on talent alone.

Quentin JohnstonChargers

  • Posted second 20+ point game of season (23.9).
  • Caught 8 of 13 targets for 98 yards and a touchdown.
  • Has scored in 3 of 4 games.
  • Ladd McConkey’s role is fading — reduced to blocking in single-WR sets.

Puka NacuaRams

  • Logged 13 receptions for the third time in four games.

Jordan AddisonVikings

  • Returned from suspension, played 96% of snaps in Ireland.
  • Saw 8 targets, catching 4 for 114 yards.
  • Jefferson and Addison on the field could have the Vikings’ offense take off.

Tight Ends

Brenton Strange Jaguars

  • Most consistent pass catcher for the Jaguars.
  • Played 82.5% of snaps, ran 88.7% of routes.
  • Holds 16% target share, 6 targets per game, leading team in receiving yards.

Brock BowersRaiders

  • Third straight game under 10 fantasy points (6 targets).
  • Still seeing 22% target share (4th-best among TEs).
  • Volume suggests rebound potential; still could top-3 talent at season’s end.

Dalton Schultz Texans

  • Strong candidate for breakout game versus injury-riddled Ravens defense in Week 5.
  • Averaging 30 receiving yards a game
  • Week 4 – 87.5% route share and 21.4% target share
  • Steady floor that just needs a score for TE1 status.

Dallas Goedert Eagles

  • Scored twice on 4 receptions (37 yards).
  • Now has an 18% target share, 86% snap share.
  • Outproducing Brown and Smith whenever healthy; trending upward.

Dalton KincaidBills

  • Modest yard totals with high scoring upside
  • Hovering around 50% target share weekly
  • Highest utilization and touches amongst Buffalo tight ends
  • TD in three of our games this season
