The DFS Must Starts: Allen, Achane lead unspectacular Week 13 slate

The DFS Must Starts Week 13

The DFS Must Starts Thanksgiving edition brought home another successful day as all four of my Must Starts were part of my winning lineup.

Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes was the highest scoring quarterback on the slate, while Baltimore’s Derrick Henry and Mark Andrews were top 3 finishers at their position. Xavier Worthy was the only KC top receiver without a touchdown.

I finished with 172.44 points and could have been a little better if I had played the Cincinnati defense instead of the Dallas DST.

I can’t complain too much with a little extra money for the three Sunday slates.

I will posting my Top Plays on our FREE Blitz Sports Media Discord an hour before the first game tomorrow. And it’s easy to join: https://discord.gg/ubewtTAnzJ

Let’s get into the Week 13 plays!

QB DFS Must Starts

Josh Allen, Buffalo ($7,500, 18.4 percent rostered)

Allen has dominated Pittsburgh in the two teams’ last two meeting as the QB has averaged more than 35 fantasy points in the Bills’ blowout wins.

Now he faces a Steelers defense that has allowed 21.3 DraftKings points to quarterbacks this season, but it is the pass defense that’s been Pittsburgh’s Achilles’ heel.

The Steelers have given up a league-worst 258.7 passing yards a game while giving up 265.2 passing yards a game at home this season.

Allen has faced two bottom 10 pass defenses this season and he’s averaged 44.75 points in those contests against Tampa Bay and Baltimore.

Chalky Play: Justin Herbert, LA Chargers ($6,500, 11.7 percent rostered)

Value Play: Tyrod Taylor, NY Jets ($4,300, 11.6 percent rostered)

RB DFS Must Starts

De’Von Achane, Miami ($8,300, 33.2 percent rostered)

Achane is going to be the highest rostered RB for the Week 13 Main Slate, but I just can’t ignore his usage rate.

He accounts for more than 35 percent of the Dolphins’ yards from scrimmage for the season and now get a nice matchup against the Saints.

New Orleans has allowed 23.0 DK points to running backs this season, and Achane is averaging 26.2 DK points in his last four contest.

But it’s the work in the passing game that makes Achane elite. He’s averaged 5.5 receptions in the last four games with 39.8 receiving yards.

Chalky Play: Breece Hall, NY Jets ($6,000, 20.9 percent rostered)

Value Play: Kenneth Walker III, Seattle ($5,300, 13 percent rostered)

WR DFS Must Starts

Chris Olave, New Orleans ($6,400, 16.4 percent rostered)

Olave has been a target monster for the Saints this season and despite a back injury this week, he’s expected to play against the Dolphins, who have struggled in home games against the pass.

Miami has allowed almost 25 more passing yards a game at Hard Rock Stadium.

However, the Dolphins have only allowed 27.1 DK points to WRs this season, but Olave is the passing offense among the WRs for the Saints.

Olave has seen 108 targets this season and tight end Juwan Johnson is the next closest with 61. Devaughn Vele is the closest WR with 20 targets.

This should allow Olave to soak up most of the 27.1 DK points the Dolphins allow.

Chalky Play: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle ($9,500, 20.3 percent rostered)

Value Play: Jayden Higgins, Houston ($3,900, 9.7 percent rostered)

TE DFS Must Starts

Brock Bowers, Las Vegas ($5,800, 13.8 percent rostered)

It appears Bowers is close to being 100 percent since injuring his knee earlier in the season.

The second-year tight end has played 97 and 96 percent of the snaps the last two weeks and he’s seen 21 targets in the process. Plus, the Raiders other TE Michael Mayer is out for the game against LA Chargers.

Bowers may not put up a 20-point game against the Chargers as they only allow 9.7 DK points to TEs this season. But on a slate without another elite TE, Bowers could be the leading TE scorer on the Main Slate.

Chalky Play: Oronde Gadsden II, LA Chargers ($4,300, 14.9 percent rostered)

Value Play: Gunnar Helm, Tennessee ($2,600, 4.1 percent rostered)

DST DFS Must Starts

NY Jets ($2,400, 17.6 percent rostered) home against Atlanta

Seattle ($3,900, 8.4 percent rostered) home against Minnesota
