The Miami Dolphins visited frigid Pittsburgh on Monday night to challenge the Steelers and their impressive 22-game winning streak at home on Monday Night Football, dating back to 1991. The Dolphins brought their own streak, winning 4 in a row after a 1-5 start – barely keeping their playoff hopes alive.

The 19-degree Pittsburgh air froze the scoreboard in the first quarter, along with Mike Tomlin‘s faith in his all-world kicker, as he elected to punt to begin the second frame instead of attempting a 60-yard Chris Boswell field goal.
After trading another set of punts, Riley Patterson kicked off the scoring with a career-long 54-yard field goal to give the Dolphins a 3-0 lead.
The Steelers answered the score with a 13-play drive capped off with a 1-yard tush push for a Connor Heyward TD, leaving only 17 seconds left in the half.
The Steelers received the second half kickoff and wasted little time getting back into the endzone when Rodgers hooked up with old friend Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a 19-yard touchdown
The ensuing Dolphins drive was short-lived, highlighted by another pair of former teammates reuniting – this time, it wasn’t nearly as friendly.
Rodgers continued to roll as he found D.K. Metcalf for a violent catch and run for another touchdown, leaving the Dolphins in a 21-3 deficit late in the third quarter.
The 4th quarter featured a nail in the coffin by the Steelers on a 14-yard Jonnu Smith touchdown run. Although the Dolphins followed up with a pair of Darren Waller touchdowns, they only mattered to those who started him in their fantasy football playoff matchup.
The Steelers would come away with a 28-15 victory in a complete team effort, one of the best of its kind for this 2025 squad. Their pursuit of the AFC North crown sits in front of them, with the team controlling its own destiny.
Up next is a trip to Detroit to face the 8-6 Lions, who, like the Dolphins, will enter the game looking at the playoff picture from the outside. The Steelers are currently 6.5-point underdogs against the Lions, but if they enter Detroit with the same energy and execution they displayed on Monday night, a colossal upset could create the momentum needed to finish the season strong as they continue toward the playoffs.
