Arizona Cardinals Lose Season Finale 37-20 to Los Angeles Rams

The final act of the Arizona Cardinals’ season took place inside SoFi Stadium as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cardinals 37-20. The Rams fell behind 20-16 in the third quarter, but went on to score 21 unanswered points en route to their 12th victory of the season.

“I thought it was a good battle. Give a lot of credit to the Rams, coach [Sean] McVay, his team, that’s a good football team. Had our chances; they just out-executed us there for four quarters,” Jonathan Gannon said postgame. “But I appreciate the fight. We went down swinging, I thought, just didn’t have enough in the tank.”

Rams Find Their Rhythm

After throwing three interceptions on “Monday Night Football,” Matthew Stafford responded with a strong performance against the Arizona Cardinals. He completed 25-of-40 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns. Stafford concludes the 2025 season with 46 touchdown passes—the most in his 17-year NFL career.

Puka Nacua led Los Angeles wideouts with 10 receptions and 76 yards. His 10th touchdown of the season was a one-handed highlight reel grab over rookie cornerback Denzel Burke.

The Rams’ tight ends both had solid games. Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson combined for nine catches, 127 yards, and three touchdowns.

Wilson is a Star

Michael Wilson surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his young NFL career. He had another fantastic game Sunday, recording five catches for 99 yards and one score.

The box score doesn’t tell the entire story. Wilson’s route running looked crisp, and he made acrobatic catches throughout the contest. Wilson posterized Rams’ defense back Cobie Durant on a 56-yard pass from Jacoby Brissett, but unfortunately, the play was called back due to an offensive penalty.

Michael Wilson is the first Arizona Cardinals wide receiver to eclipse 1,000 yards since DeAndre Hopkins in 2020. “He was a warrior all year. I felt like he was battling all year and made a bunch of plays. And that’s what good players do. They maximize their opportunity, and he was consistent with it,” Jonathan Gannon told Paul Calvisi on the Cardinals Locker Room Show. “I’m proud of him.”
