Free agency always reshapes the fantasy football landscape, and several players saw their outlook improve significantly following early offseason moves. Whether it’s a new offensive system, increased opportunity, or a clearer path to volume, these players are positioned to benefit the most heading into the 2026 fantasy season.
Here are some of the biggest fantasy football winners from the opening wave of NFL free agency.
Kenneth Walker III
Kenneth Walker III finished the 2025 season as the RB22 in half-PPR scoring, but that ranking severely undersells how dominant he was when given a true lead-back role. Walker’s production was often capped by a committee with Zach Charbonnet in Seattle, limiting his weekly volume despite elite efficiency. When Walker was featured as the primary back, however, the results were explosive.
During Seattle’s playoff run, Walker averaged 23.4 half-PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 313 rushing yards and four touchdowns in three games while winning Super Bowl MVP. Now in Kansas City, Walker lands on a team that ranked 25th in rushing yards per game last season and clearly prioritized upgrading the ground game. With Patrick Mahomes returning from an ACL injury and the Chiefs expected to lean more on the run early in the season, Walker has a legitimate path to RB1 fantasy production with a much larger workload.
Alec Pierce
Alec Pierce returning to Indianapolis on a four-year, $116 million contract confirms how valuable he has become to the Colts’ offense. Pierce is coming off a breakout 2025 campaign in which he recorded 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns, averaging an impressive 21.3 yards per catch. It marked his first career 1,000-yard season and continued a steady upward trajectory after posting 824 yards the year prior.
Pierce’s role as Indianapolis’ primary vertical threat gives him massive big-play upside for fantasy football. Over the past two seasons, he has totaled 1,827 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to consistently stretch defenses. With the Colts committing long-term money to him and continuing to build their passing offense around explosive plays, Pierce’s fantasy stock rises significantly. Expect him to increase his target share with the departure of Michael Pittman Jr and push for WR2 territory in 2026
Travis Etienne
Travis Etienne enters the 2026 season with renewed fantasy momentum after finishing RB10 in PPR scoring last year. Etienne rebounded in a big way following a disappointing 2024 season, totaling 1,399 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns while averaging over 5.3 yards per touch. His ability to contribute both as a runner and receiver continues to make him one of the most versatile backs in the league.
Now joining the Saints, Etienne lands in an offense run by head coach Kellen Moore, whose systems have consistently produced strong fantasy running backs. Moore’s offenses historically play at a fast pace and generate high running back usage near the goal line. With Alvin Kamara turning 31 and coming off an injury-shortened season, Etienne has a clear path to lead-back usage in a high-volume offense, which could push him firmly into top-10 fantasy RB territory again.
Wan’Dale Robinson
Wan’Dale Robinson has quietly become one of the most heavily targeted receivers in the NFL. Over the last two seasons, only five wide receivers have recorded 130+ targets in both years: Ja’Marr Chase, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Justin Jefferson, and Robinson. That level of volume translated to strong fantasy production, as Robinson finished the 2025 season as the WR20 in half-PPR points per game.
Robinson also expanded his role significantly last season. His average depth of target jumped to 9.0 yards, and he finished 19th in deep targets, proving he could contribute beyond short routes. The result was his first 1,000-yard receiving season while maintaining elite target share numbers. Now paired with second-year quarterback Cam Ward in Tennessee and reunited with Brian Daboll’s offensive system, Robinson projects to be a high-volume target magnet capable of producing strong fantasy value, especially in PPR formats.
Malik Willis
Malik Willis could become one of the biggest fantasy football sleepers after signing with the Miami Dolphins. Willis showed significant growth during his time with the Green Bay Packers, stepping in during multiple games and displaying improved efficiency as a passer. In two starts replacing Jordan Love in 2024, Willis completed 25 of 33 passes for 324 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, while also adding 114 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
The biggest appeal for fantasy managers is Willis’ rushing ability. In his six career starts, he has averaged 44.8 rushing yards per game, which alone provides a strong weekly fantasy floor. Running quarterbacks are often fantasy cheat codes, and Willis has already proven he can generate 8-10 fantasy points per game with his legs alone. If he secures the starting job in Miami, his dual-threat skill set could quickly make him a high-upside QB2 with breakout potential.
