The Buffalo Bills answered back after what many fans would call a catastrophic game last week against the Miami Dolphins. Heading into this matchup, Buffalo’s inconsistency has cost them despite their 7-3 record. Head Coach Sean McDermott needs to get this team hot ahead of the playoffs, that may be without Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and even Patrick Mahomes, in what would be Josh Allen and the Bills’ best chance at making a run at the Lombardi trophy.
Game Recap
Josh Allen has had some turnover issues in the middle of the season and scared many fans early on by chucking the ball at a linebacker, but after a strong defensive stand, it only cost Buffalo 3 points. Allen would go on to throw another interception; however, he made up for it by having a 6-touchdown performance, his second 3 passing TD, 3 rushing TD game of his career.
Despite my belief that Tampa Bay‘s receiving core would be a threat, it was Sean Tucker who had a career day while seeing an increase in snaps on Sunday. He finished the day with 140 scrimmage yards and 3 TDs. It was an impressive day for Tucker, and it will be interesting to see how this affects Rachaad White moving forward, if Bucky Irving remains out.
Although both offenses were going nuclear, the Bills were able to edge out the Bucs late and win 44-32. Buffalo advances to 7-3 and remains close behind the 9-2 New England Patriots for the AFC East.
My Player of the Game
Not one, not two, but SIX TOUCHDOWNS! Josh Allen was the Buffalo Bills today. Allen once again proves why he can carry this team on any given Sunday, and Buffalo will always be in contention to make a Super Bowl run with Allen at the helm.
What’s Going On With Keon Coleman?
It was rumored that Coleman was going to be a healthy scratch Saturday Morning, and many fans thought this was him being benched due to his lack of performance…which is justified, but early Sunday morning, fans learned that Keon had missed an important team meeting on Friday and was notified he would be a healthy scratch as discipline. It is unknown if Coleman will return to the starting lineup, especially after seeing our offense fire on all cylinders without him.
Cole Bishops Emergence
Many, myself included, wrote Cole Bishop off after seeing his poor tackling in the first half of the season and mediocre coverage skills. However, since the bye week, Bishop has been making significant plays all over the field and now has an interception in back-to-back games heading into next week. Whatever the coaching staff and Bishop did during the bye, it is working great, and if he keeps it up, he may very well be a long-term answer for Buffalo’s secondary.
What’s Ahead
Buffalo is on a short week as they will travel to Houston for a Thursday Night Football matchup. The Bills then travel to Pittsburgh to take on the 6-4 Steelers, followed by the Cincinnati Bengals traveling to western New York in week 14.
