The Carolina Panthers Submit the 53-man Roster

With the first NFL game of the 2025 NFL just on the horizon on September 4th, 2025 at 8:20PM between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, teams were asked to cut down their rosters from their bloated 90+ preseason size down to the league required 53-man roster. While you did have until Tuesday August 26th 2025 to submit those rosters, many teams saw those cards being submitted early to ensure they could prepare for the incoming swarm of waiver claims. Carolina Panthers submitted their 53-man roster ahead of the deadline:

Carolina Panthers 53-man Roster

Offense

Bryce Young

Andy Dalton

This room seems set outside of trying to find a QB to make his way to the practice squad and if the cuts are any indication of that, QB Jack Plummer isn’t headed back to Carolina.

Chuba Hubbard

Rico Dowdle

Trevor Etienne (rookie)

While many believed that RB Raheem Blackshear might sneak onto this roster again, the special teams contribution that Etienne showed during training camp allowed him to secure that RB3 spot and leave no doubt.

Tetairoa McMillan (rookie)

Xavier Legette

Jalen Coker

Jimmy Horn Jr (rookie)

David Moore

Brycen Treymance

So many fans were hurt by the news of WR Hunter Renfrow not making the team, but given the news that WR Adam Thielen was traded back to Minnesota, it frees up the chance for the darling to return.

Ja’Tavion Sanders

Tommy Tremble

Mitchell Evans (rookie)

James Mitchell

The inclusion of TE James Mitchell seems to indicate that the team is going to need a substantial infusion of blocking power to assist in the run-game. If the provided order is also any indication, Ja’Tavion Sanders seems to have gotten that TE1 position.

Ikem Ekwonu

Damien Lewis

Austin Corbett

Robert Hunt

Taylor Moton

Brady Christiansen

Cade Mays

Chandler Zavala

Yosh Nijman

As the Carolina Panthers return a fantastic group of offensive linemen, the ability to maybe snag one or two guys for the practice squad is going to come down to the concern around Damien Lewis (shoulder), Chandler Zavala (patella), and other smaller nagging injuries to the line.

Defense

Derrick Brown

Bobby Brown

A’Shawn Robinson

Tershawn Wharton

Cam Jackson (rookie)

Jaden Crumedy

Arguably the strongest group on the team, the defensive line returns Pro Bowler Derrick Brown alongside an improved room that even got a rookie infusion with young stud Cam Jackson.

Trevin Wallace

Christian Rozeboom

Claudin Cherelus

Bam Martin-Scott (UDFA)

Many saw the inclusion of Bam Martin-Scott as a surprise but the effort he showed in camp along with the lack of solid depth at the position was one which Bam pounced on – congratulations dude!

Patrick Jones

DJ Wonnum

Nic Scourton (rookie)

Princely Umanmielen (rookie)

Thomas Incoom

DJ Johnson

One of the most fun position groups to look at this year, the outside linebackers added two dynamic rookies who are not only ready to strike but have shown us all through camp that they’re truly DAWGS.

Jaycee Horn

Mike Jackson

Chau Smith-Wade

Corey Thornton (UDFA)

Akayleb Evans

A room which leaves some room for improvement hopefully through the waiver claims, the secondary is going to be supplemented at times with the assistance of our improve safety group. Expect changes to happen to this room at some point soon.

Tre’von Moehrig

Lathan Ransom (rookie)

Demani Richardson

Nick Scott

Filled with a bunch of thumpin’ safeties, the room has yet to find its soft hands to become that ball hawk, though Lathan Ransom seems to have not received that memo yet. If a change happens to this group, it’s to add a proven free safety.

JJ Jansen

Sam Martin

Ryan Fitzgerald (UDFA)

A room which saw controversy until the rookie broke through the glass to secure the placekicking position ahead of PK Matthew Wright. JJJ continues to be incredibly consistent and now Fitzgerald hopes to do the same as the teams PK.

DL LaBryan Ray (ankle)

Jonathon Brooks
