For nearly a decade, Conquest has been a staple game mode in MLB The Show, providing players with an offline grind to earn rewards. However, in MLB The Show 25, the mode has significantly declined, leaving many no-money-spent (NMS) players frustrated with the lack of worthwhile rewards. After hours of grinding multiple Conquest maps, it’s clear that the mode is in desperate need of a revamp.
The Decline of Conquest Rewards
Conquest was once one of the most rewarding offline modes, offering diamond players and high-value packs for players who put in the time to complete the maps. In past iterations of the game, the USA Map was a prime example of this, offering some of the best diamond rewards in the game. Fast forward to MLB The Show 25, and the rewards have become lackluster, with gold cards now replacing the once highly sought-after diamond rewards.
Even smaller maps, which traditionally offered quick and efficient ways to earn packs and stubs, have seen a decline in quality. For instance, the Spring Breakout map provides a handful of standard show packs and a deluxe choice pack, which isn’t even guaranteed to contain a diamond. The lack of guaranteed value makes it difficult for NMS players to justify the time investment required for Conquest.
The Grapefruit Map Disaster

One of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with Conquest this year was grinding through the Grapefruit Map. It took five to six hours to complete, yet the rewards were almost nonexistent. Aside from a few show packs and a handful of hidden rewards, there was little incentive to spend that much time on the mode. I walked away with barely any stubs and zero high-value pulls from my packs. This level of reward is unacceptable for the amount of effort required, making it one of the worst decisions I’ve made in MLB The Show 25.
On the other hand, maps like the Apple Map provide better value, offering multiple packs in a short amount of time. The Shamrock Map, while not the most rewarding, at least allows for a more efficient grind compared to the Grapefruit disaster. If SDS wants players to engage with Conquest, they need to design more maps like Apple and Shamrock while completely overhauling the time-to-reward ratio of maps like Grapefruit.
Diamond Quest Has Made Conquest Obsolete

With the release of Diamond Quest, Conquest has become one of the least efficient ways to earn stubs and packs. Diamond Quest maps can be completed in about an hour, guaranteeing players high-value diamond cards that sell for 25-30k stubs. If you complete the moments and objectives within the Diamond Quest mode, you’re likely to walk away with two diamond players, ensuring a solid return on investment.
Compare that to Conquest, where after hours of grinding, you might not even pull a single diamond from your packs. The uncertainty and inefficiency of Conquest make it an outdated mode that simply does not compare to the rewards available in Diamond Quest.
A Necessary Revamp for Conquest
If Conquest is going to remain a relevant mode in MLB The Show, it needs a significant overhaul. Here are a few changes that could make Conquest worthwhile again:
- Guaranteed Diamond Rewards – Players should be rewarded for their time with guaranteed, sellable diamond cards instead of relying on luck-based pack pulls.
- Stub Bonuses for Completion – Completing a Conquest map should come with a set amount of stubs as a guaranteed reward, making the grind more predictable and worthwhile.
- Shorter, More Rewarding Maps – Maps like Apple and Shamrock should become the norm, allowing players to earn multiple packs in a shorter time frame.
- Increased XP for Games Played – Right now, other offline modes provide more XP than Conquest, which discourages players from engaging with it.

Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, Conquest in MLB The Show 24 is simply not worth the time investment. The rewards have been significantly downgraded, making it one of the least efficient ways to earn stubs and packs in the game. With Diamond Quest offering a far superior grind, SDS needs to completely revamp Conquest if they want players to continue engaging with it. Until then, I highly recommend avoiding Conquest and focusing on more efficient stub-making methods.
