Defensive Streamers: Steelers face Browns rookie QB in Week 6

Defensive Streamers Week 6

Week 5 was a very disappointing week for my Defensive Streamers as Arizona played down to its competition again in a home loss to winless Tennessee.

One Cardinals fan on Reddit said he was hoping I was right because Arizona almost gave up a big lead to Carolina in Week 2. This time the Titans were able to hand the Cardinals their third straight last second loss of the season.

Well, there are always a new week to pick the perfect Defensive Streamers, and let’s get to the Week 6 picks!

Defensive Streamers

Pittsburgh home against Cleveland

Cleveland rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel will have his hands full in his first matchup against the Pittsburgh defense.

The Black and Gold defense is having an off season as it has given up 382.5 yards per game (28th in the NFL), but it is the historical record that bodes well.

The Pittsburgh defense is historically dominant against rookie quarterbacks, holding a 26-6 record under head coach Mike Tomlin.

The Browns have a bottom 10 offense as they have only gained 288.2 yards a game this season and have given up 2.2 sacks a game this season. The Steelers have recorded 11 sacks in their last two games.

Philadelphia at NY Giants

While the Eagles offense continues to look for its 2025 identity, it has been their defense that had them undefeated until last Sunday’s loss to Denver.

The defense is a middle of a road unit when it comes to yards allowed a game this season as the Eagles are giving up 338.2 yards a game (20th overall). It’s when teams get into the red zone where Philadelphia locks them down.

The Eagles are ranked 3rd in opponent red zone scoring percentage (touchdowns only) as they give up a TD 42.8 percent when their opponents reach the red zone.

And the Giants enter their matchup as the worst team in the NFL in red zone scoring for touchdowns. New York ranks 32nd with a 31.6 percent mark of scoring a touchdown in the red zone.

Rookie QB Jaxson Dart and the NY offense is coming off a five-turnover game at New Orleans. Dart accounted for two interceptions and a fumble lost.

Green Bay home against Cincinnati

The Bengals may have a new QB under center for this game as they traded for Joe Flacco.

However, Flacco may be limited if he starts this week after the trade was completed on Tuesday. But the Cincinnati offense has been awful on the road all season.

The Bengals have averaged just 157 yards a game on the road this season and now head to Green Bay to face Micah Parsons and the rest of the Packers defense.

Green Bay has been a stingy bunch as it has only given 283.3 yards a game (4th in the league) this season and they’ve played even better at home. The Packers have given up 238 yards a game at Lambeau Field.

The Pack has recorded 4 sacks a game in their home contests, as well, this season, and even if Flacco starts, he may not have time to pass behind the Bengals porous offensive line.
