The DFS Must Starts: Allen leads big 2 of 3 Wild Card weekend slates

The DFS Must Starts - Wild Card Weekend

The NFL Wild Card Weekend is finally here and I have The DFS Must Starts for the Saturday two-game slate, the Sunday three-game slate and the full six-game slate as well.

I know that’s a lot of names to remember but pay attention to the plays I mention for which slate they are playing on.

I will concentrate on the Sunday three-game slate as my main write-ups.

Let’s get into the Wild Card Weekend plays!

QB DFS Must Starts

Josh Allen, Buffalo ($7,000, 48.8 percent rostered Sunday)

Allen didn’t have an Allen type fantasy year in the 2025 season, but he is the quarterback with the most experience in the AFC Playoffs.

Jacksonville has been a middle of the road defense in DraftKings QB points allowed this season, giving up 18.0 DK points a game. However, the Jaguars have given up 5 rushing TDs to QBs this season. When the game is on the line, the Bills will put the ball in Allen’s hands and let him do his magic.

In his 13 playoff game career, Allen has averaged 51 yards rushing a game and scored 7 times. And he’s also averaged 258 yards passing a game with 25 TD passes and only 4 interceptions.

Saturday 2-game: Jordan Love, Green Bay ($5,300, 37 percent rostered)

Full 6-game: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia ($6,300, 28.7 percent rostered)

RB DFS Must Starts

James Cook III, Buffalo ($7,400, 59 percent rostered Sunday)

Adding Cook III to Allen may give you all of the Bills TDs in their matchup against the Jaguars.

Cook III won the rushing title this season with 1,621 yards and added 12 rushing TDs.

Now he faces a Jaguars defense that has been stout against the run this season, where they have limited RBs to a second-best 18.8 DK points a games.

But Cook III may have an expanded role in the offense as Ty Johnson is questionable with an ankle injury. Johnson missed the Wednesday and Thursday practices before being limited on Friday.

Saturday 2-game: Kyren Williams, LA Rams ($6,400, 59 percent rostered)

Full 6-game: Josh Jacobs, Green Bay ($6,300, 37.2 percent rostered)

WR DFS Must Starts

Parker Washington, Jacksonville ($5,000, 33.4 percent rostered Sunday)

Washington’s price is way too low, in my opinion, with his offensive output over the last three games of the regular season.

He averaged 23.7 DK points a game and was targeted 29 times for a 28 percent target share.

The Bills have only allowed 26.9 DK points to WRs this season, but the Jaguars have rode the hot hand of QB Trevor Lawrence, who has averaged 281.8 passing yards a game in his last four games.

Saturday 2-game: Christian Watson, Green Bay ($4,900, 44 percent rostered)

Full 6-game: Puka Nacua, LA Rams ($8,700, 39.6 percent rostered)

TE DFS Must Starts

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia ($4,200, 23.1 percent rostered Sunday)

Goedert was part of the group of starters who did not play in the Eagles’ season finale.

Goedert was nursing a knee injury before capped practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday this week. He was a full participant on Friday and should see his full-time role against San Francisco.

In his last four games, Goedert was a target hog for Hurts. He had 26 targets, a 23 percent target share, and had 14 catches for 188 yards and hauled in 4 TDs. Goedert led the team this season with a 30 percent target share in the red zone.

Saturday 2-game: Colston Loveland, Chicago ($4,400, 51 percent)

Full 6-game: Goedert (12.5 percent rostered) or Loveland (11.6 percent rostered)

DST DFS Must Starts

Saturday 2-game: LA Rams ($3,500, 59 percent rostered) at Carolina

Sunday 3-game: Philadelphia ($2,900, 61.2 percent rostered) home against San Francisco

Full 6-game: Pittsburgh ($2,600, 16.6 percent rostered) home against Houston
