Eagles Key Departures
Free Agency has officially started for the NFL 2026 season and The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a shaky start. The Eagles had 19 pending free agents, nine of those players have already signed new contracts with new teams. With many of the former Eagles players being key starters, role-players and backups it’ll be an intriguing offseason to see what moves Howie Roseman may make to replace these key players. Here’s an outlook on every player who has signed to a new contract.

What These Departures mean for Philadelphia
With nine players already leaving in free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles are clearly entering a transitional period this offseason. While not every departing player was a full-time starter, several of them played important roles in the team’s depth and defensive rotation. Losing contributors like Nakobe Dean and Reed Blankenship removes key pieces from the middle of the defense and the secondary, which could force Philadelphia to address those positions in the coming months.
General manager Howie Roseman has built a reputation around the league for reloading the roster quickly, often using a combination of strategic free-agent signings and strong draft classes. With the offseason still unfolding, the Eagles may look to add veteran replacements or develop younger players already on the roster to fill these gaps. The upcoming draft could also play a major role in reshaping the team’s depth chart.
Despite the departures, Philadelphia remains a competitive team in the NFL. The next few weeks will reveal whether the Eagles’ front office can once again turn roster turnover into another successful season.
