Baltimore assumes the financial responsibility for his contract, removing the Mets from the $2 million buyout of his 2027 team option. Morabito is a 23-year-old right-handed outfield prospect who is currently ranked the Mets’ 13th overall prospect. He’s known for his exceptional speed and strong defensive utility. This isn’t his rookie debut, as he first debuted in the majors on May 19th, 2026, struggling at the plate, going 0-11 with 9 strikeouts.

Now back up in the majors for his second stint, he’ll look to make the most of his opportunity. So far in Triple-A Syracuse, he has a .254/.355/.388 slash line with 13 HR/ 47 RBI in 114 games played. The stat that stands out is his 42 stolen bases, showing his elite base-stealing capabilities.

While the top two spots are securely held by the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, the race for the third and final seed is a crowded bottleneck.
