RBC Canadian Open Betting Guide: Bets to win and Top 20 finishers

It was another week with a golfer in contention on the weekend from my Betting Guide to only fall short on Sunday.

Tommy Fleetwood was in the mix before J.T. Poston and Ryan Gerard pulled away to play a two-hole playoff at the Memorial. Poston won on that second hole with a par.

I did win two of my three Top 20 plays with Adam Scott and Alex Fitzpatrick securing the wins for me.

This week is the first of two straight national championships for the PGA Tour pros as they head to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course) for the Canadian Open.

Ryan Fox is the defending champion after defeating Sam Burns in four playoff holes.

The 126th edition of the U.S. Open will be played next week at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

Let’s get into this week’s plays! All odds are from DraftKings.

Betting Guide: Bets to Win

RCB Canadian Open Top Plays
Tommy Fleetwood (+1150)

It was nice to see Fleetwood back in form last week after an up-and-down season so far.

The 2025 FedEX Cup champion has shown some flashes of last year’s form but finally put it all together last week with his T4 finish at the Memorial.

Despite missing the cut at the PGA Championship, Fleetwood has two Top 5 finishes in his last three events.

This week for the Canadian Open he enters the tournament with Top 25 rankings on Tour in six categories I used for my DFS spreadsheet. This includes 5 Top 10 rankings.

He has a Top 10 spot in my course fit category with his strengths in scrambling and bogey avoidance.

Alex Fitzpatrick (+3900)

The talk has been Matt Fitzpatrick carried his brother Alex to their Zurich Classic victory, which secured Alex’s PGA Tour card.

However, Alex has been the better Fitzpatrick since that win in April.

Alex has three Top 5 finishes in his last four events and is a favorite among most golfing pundits this week.

I’m not going to ignore this party and I’m going to join my fellow prognosticators.

His elite approach game and strong off the tee play provides him the chance of another high finish and if he has a good putting week, Alex could join his brother as a multiple winner on Tour this season.

Tom Kim (+9600)

Despite two straight T54 finishes, Kim has shown some flashes of his impressive start to his PGA career.

He fired a 64 in the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge before struggling in his final three rounds.

And my DFS spreadsheet has him in theTop 5 heading into the Canadian Open.

He enters the week as one of the strongest course fit plays from my spreadsheet and his strong tee to green play and approach game should be well suited for TPC Toronto.

Top 20 with ties

Doug Ghim (+240): Ghim enters the week as one of my best course fits for the Canadian Open. His strong scrambling skills and bogey avoidance stats pairs well with his approach game.

Zach Bauchou (+365): Bauchou comes into the tournament with four straight Top 30 finishes and if he can put together four sub-68 rounds, he should squeeze into the Top 20.

One and Done

Tommy Fleetwood: If you haven’t used him yet, this should be the week to play him. He’s rounding into form and I would not trust him next week with the U.S. Open course conditions.
