Sleepers & Duds: Young, Jameson Williams will continue strong play in Week 12

Sleepers & Duds Week 12

I’m always going to expect to receive criticism making my picks for my Sleepers & Duds story each week.

But most fantasy managers need to remind realistic with their teams during certain matchups during the season.

I’m seeing a lot having of concerns starting their defense against one of their key offensive player. And I say start them both – correlation only goes so far in regular fantasy compared to DFS play.

Don’t fret the conflicting or tough choices, enjoy this crazy fantasy sport we enjoy for 17 weeks of the NFL season.

Enjoy ride!

QB Sleepers

Bryce Young, Carolina

Young had a career game against Atlanta last week as he roasted the Falcons twice in his last two visits to the ATL.

Now we have a chance to ride the wave against the San Francisco defense – the same defense that allowed a journeyman QB to throw for 400-plus yards and three touchdowns.

The 49ers are a bottom 10 team for allowing fantasy points to QBs this season, giving up 18.9 points a game. San Francisco has given up 302.0 passing yards a game in their last three games.

Young’s two best fantasy games have on the road this season as he had a 20-plus point effort in a road loss to Arizona in Week 2.

QB Duds

Dak Prescott, Dallas

Prescott has a few factors against him this week.

  1. Short week
  2. Philadelphia has given up only 192.7 passing yards in their last three.
  3. The Eagles secondary has the skillset to take away at least one of CeeDee Lamb or George Pickens.

The Eagles limited Prescott to only 188 passing yards in their first matchup of the season.

RB Sleepers

Zach Charbonnet, Seattle

Kenneth Walker III seemed to break out of his season-long slump against LA Rams last week, but Seahawks may feed Charbonnet the ball late in their game on Sunday against Tennessee.

The Seahawks enter the game as 12.5-point favorites, and Walker III was a late addition to the injury report with a glute injury. He is still expected to play, according to reports

The injury may allow Charbonnet a couple more touches which may lead him to end zone as the Titans have given up 12 rushing touchdowns.

RB Duds

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis

I’m not advocating leaving Taylor on your bench because he can score can touchdowns in bunches, but it’s more about the Kansas City run defense.

The Chiefs have only allowed running backs to average 14.4 fantasy points a game this season and have only allowed 76.6 rushing yards a game in their last five.

And the KC defense has been a different monster at home this season, only giving up 245.6 yards a game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

WR Sleepers

Jameson Williams, Detroit

We know Williams has always been the boom or bust WR for the Lions as Amon-Ra St. Brown is their consistent rock.

But Williams has stepped up his play the last three weeks, averaging just more than 20 fantasy points a game.

The Lions face a NY Giants team that allows 239.2 passing yards a game on the road and gives up 31.2 points in their last five games. Williams should be in line for another big fantasy day.

WR Duds

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota

Jefferson is probably wishing the Vikings had just re-signed Sam Darnold after J.J. McCarthy’s recent play.

McCarthy hasn’t completed more than 60 percent of his passes in the last four games, and Jefferson’s stats have suffered.

JJettas has been targeted 41 times in those three games and only has 22 catches for 219 yards (54.8 yards a game). Those are not the elite numbers we were are expecting from an early round pick.

TE Sleepers

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans

The Falcons have played well against TEs this season, but New Orleans rookie QB Tyler Shough has found a connection with Johnson.

Johnson has caught a touchdown from Shough in the Saints’ last two games. Johnson added four catches for 92 yards in Shough’s first start at Carolina (a 17-7 New Orleans win).

Now, Shough will be making his first home start, where Johnson has averaged 4.4 receptions for 42 yards. A third straight TD week should deliver Johnson in the TE1 area for the week.

TE Duds

Tyler Warren, Indianapolis

I know I used Warren earlier this year as a Dud against Atlanta, and he delivered a big game, ruining my call.

But I’m going to stick to what the statistical averages say – expect a less-than-successful day for TEs against Kansas City at Arrowhead.

The Chiefs have only given up 6.0 points a game to tight ends this season.
