After a busy weekend for my son’s wedding, I’ve finally re-cooperated to write my weekly Waiver Wire Stashes story for Week 5.
Last week’s group of Stashes had some up and down results.
Houston’s Woody Marks made the most out of garbage time to start people talking of him starting over for the ancient Nick Chubb, while Chicago’s Luther Burden III ad LA Chargers’ Oronde Gadsden II returned to buried roles in their teams’ respective offenses.
Let’s get into this week’s Waiver Wire Stashes!
TE Waiver Wire Stashes
Mason Taylor, NY Jets (6 percent Yahoo!; 3 percent ESPN; 11 percent Sleeper)
Taylor is finally starting to look like a lower end TE1 with upside.
He has seen 6 and 7 targets the last two games and continues to play more than 72 percent of the snaps for the Jets.
But in their Monday night loss to the Dolphins, Taylor put on some yardage to go with his five catches. His highest receiving yardage total for the season was 20 yards in Week 1. He had 65 yards without any receptions, going for more than 13 yards.
If he continues this two-game pace and adds a touchdown catch, a top-tier TE1 week is coming soon.
RB Waiver Wire Stashes
RJ Harvey, Denver (84 percent Yahoo!; 78 percent ESPN; 81 percent Sleeper)
Yes, I know he has high rostered numbers, but most managers have not be playing him in their starting lineups. But that time may be soon coming!
This was the first week Harvey eclipsed more than a 40 percent snap share as he passed the mark, getting 41 percent in the Broncos’ Monday night win against Cincinnati.
But the number we can’t ignore is his number touches in his 33 snaps that he played. He touched the ball 18 times, granted it was a blowout and he was playing extensively in garbage time.
But the production is there to be an elite RB1 if J.K. Dobbins were to fall to injury.
Harvey finished the game with 58 rushing yards on 14 carries and added 4 receptions on 5 targets and 40 yards and a touchdown.
WR Waiver Wire Stashes
Malik Washington, Miami (4 percent Yahoo!; 2 percent ESPN; 6 percent Sleeper)
Washington should be the player to help pick up the offensive slack that was lost with Tyreek Hill’s injury.
Washington played at least 48 percent of the snaps in every game this year with the Dolphins, but he has only seen a 13 percent target share so far this season.
He has added value as Miami used him on design runs in their Monday night win against NY Jets.
He performed well late last season when Miami was plagued with WR injuries. He averaged 5 targets a game in the last four games in 2024 and averaged just less than 8 PPR points a game.
He will not put up numbers like Hill, but he can be a steady flex starter in deeper leagues.
