Waiver Wire Stashes: Davis, Bryant providing quality snaps for Week 9

Waiver Wire Stashes Week 9

The Waiver Wire Stashes hype of Kyle Monangai slowed down quickly after his uneventful 24 rushing yards in Chicago’s road loss to Baltimore on Sunday, but that doesn’t keep us looking for Week 9’s Stash Can plays.

And I’ve personally loved all the young players who continue to step into key roles for their teams – either as a spot starter or competent back-up. We will find you and put you on our rosters!

Let’s get into this week’s finds!

Waiver Wire Stashes

Isaiah Davis, NY Jets (9 percent Yahoo!, 8 percent ESPN, 32 percent Sleeper)

Thanks to Braelon Allen‘s injury, Davis has had the chance to excel.

With trade rumors still swirling around the Jets starter Breece Hall, Davis could step into a bigger role in the offense. The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

If Hall is traded, Davis will have the starting role with no Allen to compete with. The earliest Allen is expected to return from his knee injury is Week 14, the last week of the fantasy regular season.

Davis has pushed into Hall’s playing the last two weeks as the split has been 55-45 in Hall’s favor.

And Davis has rushed for 75 yards and caught 7 passes for 66 yards the last two weeks.

Pat Bryant, Denver (1 percent Yahoo!, 1 percent ESPN, 4 percent Sleeper)

Bryant has quietly surpassed Marvin Mims Jr. as the No. 3 wide receiver in the Broncos offense.

During the last four weeks, Bryant has played more than 51 percent of the snaps, while Mims Jr. has lingered in the 30-percent range.

And on Sunday, Bryant’s more playing time finally paid off. He scored his first NFL touchdown as he finished with 2 catches for 40 yards and the TD.

Xavier Hutchinson, Houston (1 percent Yahoo!, 2 percent ESPN, 8 percent Sleeper)

I know I had Jaylin Noel as a Sleeper play last week in my Sleepers & Duds story (Noel did have 5 catches for 63 yards), but Hutchinson should be the receiver you want on your roster even when Nico Collins returns from his concussion.

Hutchinson is the No. 2 WR in the Texans offense, proven by his 67.3 percent snap count total this season.

And he finally was able to step out of Collins’ shadow to excel in Week 8. He finished with 5 catches on 6 targets with 69 yards and touchdown.

Roman Wilson, Pittsburgh (1 percent Yahoo!, 1 percent ESPN, 3 percent Sleeper)

Wilson is finally healthy and is starting to prove why the Steelers made him a third-round draft pick in 2024. Wilson missed most of the 2024 season with a hamstring injury, and he appears to be almost 100 percent healed.

In the Steelers’ Sunday Night home loss to Green Bay, Wilson had a career-day as he caught 4 of 5 targets for 74 yards and added his first career touchdown reception.

He has played 58 and 46 percent of the snaps during the last two weeks.

If the Steelers offense continues to play from behind, Wilson’s playing time could continue to increase as the season progresses.
