Week 7 doesn’t have any big names on waivers, but if you need a tight end to stream, this is a good week to pick your spot at that position. Running back waiver pickups are mostly stashes and fringe starters from last week, while receivers on the market have enough depth, but you likely won’t need to start any unless you are very desperate.
With kickoff looming, it’s time to make those final roster tweaks. Whether you’re dealing with injuries, bye weeks, or just looking for upside, here are some last-minute waiver wire adds who could make a difference in Week 7.
Running Backs to Add for Week 7
There aren’t many running back pickups on waivers, but if you do need a start at the position, Bam Knight is still available in most leagues as the Cardinals‘ starter. But it will be game script dependent against the Packers, as Michael Carter still splits the workload almost 50/50 and has more pass-catching chops, while Knight can bang in a touchdown, but that is about it.
Tyjae Spears increased his workload with Tony Pollard last week, as Tennessee’s head coach Brian Callahan was fired, so it will be interesting to see the snap share in Week 7. Either way, it’s a must-stash on benches in case Spears takes another step in taking work away or a potential Pollard trade occurs before the deadline at the beginning of November.

Wide Receivers to Add for Week 7
Somehow, Kayshon Boutte is still widely available after his monster game, but it makes sense due to the depth at the position and how volatile all the Patriots pass-catchers are with Drake Maye week-to-week. If you need a start, you could get another boom game against the Titans. Jalen Coker is set to make his 2025 debut off injured reserve against the Jets, as he is a good stash with the season he had last year with Young for Carolina.

Tight Ends to Stream for Week 7
Brock Bowers owners should likely stream Michael Mayer vs. the Chiefs in Week 7 before their bye in Week 8, as he was a top 10 tight end in Week 6 for the Raiders. But keep in mind, he is likely a one-week rental, as Cade Otton might not be till Emeka Egbuka and/or Chris Godwin comes back for the Buccaneers. Mike Evans may come back this week, so Otton is still the number two passing option for Baker Mayfield against the Lions, which may turn into a shootout in primetime.

Honorable Mention: Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@ Detroit Lions): ESPN- 20%, Sleeper- 26%, Yahoo- 31%
Quarterbacks to Stream for Week 7
Neither are the best streamers this week, but both have plus matchups in Week 8 and are good stashes, as Michael Penix Jr. will face a weak Miami defense, while the same can be said for Bryce Young, who plays a Buffalo defense that just got torched by Atlanta. Both are startable this week; however, temper expectations from their good games last week.

Honorable Mention: Bryce Young (@ New York Jets): ESPN- 18.9%, Sleeper- 27%, Yahoo- 21%
Defenses to Stream for Week 7
I think overall, fantasy defenses have been way more of a negative than finding a defense each week that gets more than double-digit points. Stashing an extra defense for a plus matchup or a bye week, even in the middle of the season, could be the key to making a push for the playoffs.
The Falcons’ defense showed out against the Bills on Monday night (with an injured 49ers team coming up) and has a great matchup Week 8 with the Dolphins, so stash if you can. The Bears‘ defense you can play this week, as they were competitive against the Commanders‘ offense, even with the rain. In Week 8, they face a Ravens offense coming off the bye, so it’s just a one-week play.
