Despite plenty of injuries, this week’s Week 6 waiver wire features adds from last week that will look to make a second appearance that made a difference in Week 5 (Rico Dowdle basically winning your week). However, with new injuries come new starters, like Hassan Haskins/ Kimani Vidal for the Los Angeles Chargers.
With kickoff looming, it’s time to make those final roster tweaks. Whether you’re dealing with injuries, bye weeks, or just looking for upside, here are some last-minute waiver wire adds who could make a difference in Week 6.
Running Backs to Add for Week 6
Miles Sanders was ruled out for the season with multiple injuries, making rookie Jaydon Blue the pure handcuff for Javonte Williams this week against the Panthers and likely moving forward. He is a must-add, as Blue started off slow due to his own injury but saw game action last week.
Overseas, Isaiah Davis for the Jets was the primary backup to Breece Hall, as he could be a stash with potential trade rumors surrounding Hall, with Braelon Allen out for a while. I don’t expect him to do much against the Broncos, but both these running back picks are stashes for benches.

Wide Receivers to Add for Week 6
Another week without Ceedee Lamb, the Cowboys will roll out an underrated hidden gem in Ryan Flournoy, who has surpassed Jalen Tolbert production-wise next to George Pickens and could be the third option for Dak Prescott, besides tight end Jake Ferguson, against the Panthers. For the 49ers, Ricky Pearsall is ruled out, and Jauan Jennings is questionable, meaning it is Kendrick Bourne time once again, with Jones starting again as well.

Tight Ends to Stream for Week 6
While Jake Tonges for the 49ers was my pick in this, he is more rostered than the Seahawks’ tight end AJ Barner, who is on the field a ton due to blocking but also in the red zone. Barner has a high chance of scoring a touchdown or two every week if they can’t punch it in at the goal line, especially this week vs. the Jaguars. With Brock Bowers ruled out and Michael Mayer passing concussion protocol, he is now the starting tight end for Smith and the Raiders.

Quarterbacks to Stream for Week 6
If you really need a quarterback streamer, at least Bryce Young is facing the worst defense against the position with the Cowboys, as this could be a blowup spot for the Panthers’ offense. With Brock Purdy sidelined again, Mac Jones could lead the charge and be fantasy viable in a game that could require a pass-heavy game script against Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers.

Honorable Mention: Mac Jones (@ Tampa Bay Buccaneers): ESPN- 4%, Sleeper- 8%, Yahoo-7 %
Defenses to Stream for Week 6
Both defenses are playing the opposing offenses that are often targets for fantasy defenses. Veteran Geno Smith has been turnover-heavy, which could result in a benching, while Cam Ward has made rookie mistakes early on for the Titans that Vegas could capitalize on. I would lean Tennessee’s defense surprisingly, as Ward has made a few eye-popping throws per game that could lead to a potential win streak extending into Week 6 (if they can stop rookie Ashton Jeanty on the ground).
