We are getting to the part of the season where the Waiver Wire Stashes and regular Waiver Wire pickups are basically the same.
Teams plagued by injuries or just trying to get to the end of the season are what our decisions have come down to choose.
Let’s get to this week’s Stash Can players!
Waiver Wire Stashes
Andrei Iosivas, Cincinnati (20 percent Yahoo!, 11 percent ESPN, 37 percent Sleeper)
Iosivas has been a vital part of the Bengals offense this season but is always overshadowed by my two wide receiving teammates – Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Thanks to Chase’s suspension and Higgins’ concussion, Iosivas has and will play a pivotal in the passing game.
For the season, he has played 79.4 of the snaps, except no major boom games as Chase and Higgins have been dominant.
His expanded role again this week makes one of the best stashes of the week. And the Bengals are getting quarterback Joe Burrow back for their big AFC North Division game at Baltimore.
John Metchie III, NY Jets (1 percent Yahoo!, 1 percent ESPN, 8 percent Sleeper)
Metchie III has made a nice impact with the Jets since his trade from Houston at trade deadline earlier this month.
He leads the Jets WR in snap percentage (82 and 86 percent) in the last two games and he has produced as well.
He has scored a touchdown in each of the last two games and added 9 catches on 10 targets and 120 receiving yards.
The Jets top WR Garrett Wilson is not expected back until Week 15 at the earliest, so Metchie III has a couple weeks to carve a role for now and for next season.
Isaiah Hodgins, NY Giants (1 percent Yahoo!, 1 percent ESPN, 3 percent Sleeper)
Hodgins can be remembered for his play during the Giants’ 2022 playoff run. He had 8 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in New York’s road win in the Wild Card playoffs against Minnesota.
Then he disappeared from the 53-man roster, bouncing around on the Giants, San Francisco and Pittsburgh’s practice squads.
The Giants re-signed him off the Steelers’ practice squad 2 weeks ago, and he has played a strong role in the offense in 2 games.
He has played the second most snaps among the WRs during the 2-game stretch and has produced. He has 7 catches for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Wan’Dale Robinson is the team’s No. 1 WR, but Hodgins may have unseated the oft-injured Darius Slayton as the WR2 for the reminder of the season.
Devin Neal, New Orleans (3 percent Yahoo!, 2 percent ESPN, 10 percent Sleeper)
Neal becomes the main beneficiary in the Saints’ backfield if Alvin Kamara misses time after injuring his knee in Sunday’s loss to Atlanta.
Neal won’t wow with rushing stats, but has been effective out of the backfield in the receiving game. The rookie sixth-round draft pick has 12 catches for 64 in his last four games.
Kamara is getting an MRI on his injured knee to confirm the extent of the injury.
The Saints offense doesn’t excite anyone but Neal is one of the good stashes for his receiving ability if he starts in place on Kamara.
