Waiver Wire Stashes: Saints’ Vele finally steps up to seize opportunity for Week 14

Waiver Wire Stashes Week 14

Since we are in the final week of the fantasy football regular season, some of the Waiver Wire Stashes this week will be more of a stash for next season than this one.

Now if you are in the playoff hunt, these players could be a spot starter in the playoffs for you.

And don’t forget the Waiver Wire game doesn’t stop at the end of the fantasy regular season.

Onto this week’s Stash Can players!

Waiver Wire Stashes

Devaughn Vele, New Orleans (1 percent Yahoo!, 1 percent ESPN, 38 percent Sleeper)

Vele finally showed the flashes that made him a part-time starter last season in Denver. He was trending in the right direction of a breakout game for the Saints as he had played 87 percent or more of the snaps the last two weeks.

This week he played 88 percent of the snaps and caught all 8 of his targets for 93 yards and a touchdown.

He was currently WR7 for the week before the Monday Night game, and has a decent schedule for the playoffs – at Tampa Bay (29th pass defense) Week 14, home against Carolina (15th), home against NY Jets (10th) and at Tennessee (19th).

Jalen Coker, Carolina (4 percent Yahoo!, 3 percent ESPN, 73 percent Sleeper)

Thanks to early season stint on the IR, Coker’s season started slow.

He missed the first six weeks with a quad strain and it has been an up-and-down year so far.

His snap counts have fluctuated between the 60 to 80 percent marks and he finally saw more than 4 targets in a game. He finished with 4 catches on 6 targets for 74 yards and a touchdown.

The Panthers are one of the four teams to have finally have their byes in Week 14, and Coker’s play can give quarterback Bryce Young another target to compliment Tetairoa McMillan as they remain in the NFC playoff hunt.

Blake Corum, LA Rams (16 percent Yahoo!, 14 percent ESPN, 86 percent Sleeper)

Corum still only plays 40 percent or less of the snaps and he has been hit and miss with his stats this season.

But if Kyren Williams would down for an injury, Corum would step into a role with RB1 tier upside.

Corum had his best day of the season in the Rams’ 31-28 road loss to Carolina. He finished with 81 yards on 7 carries (11.6 ypc) and a touchdown.

Since Week 12, Corum has averaged 10 carries and 44 rushing yards a game.

Pat Bryant, Denver (2 percent Yahoo!, 1 percent ESPN, 77 percent Sleeper)

I know I’ve mentioned Bryant earlier in the season, but he has swung back around to be mentioned again.

He played his most snaps of the season in the win against Washington. He played 70 percent of the snap even though he didn’t convert of 7 targets into much.

He finished with only 3 catches for 42 yards, but if he continues to see his snap count gradually rise that provides hope for the rest of the season.
