Bills Extend TE Dawson Knox

Buffalo Continues Working The Cap

The Buffalo Bills continue making moves to create cap space, as tight end Dawson Knox has agreed to a three-year contract extension. The restructure helps Buffalo spread Knox’s cap hit over additional seasons, freeing up valuable short-term flexibility while keeping one of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s most trusted targets in the offense.

Knox has been a key part of Buffalo’s passing attack since being drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, known for his red-zone presence, athleticism, and ability to stretch the field from the tight end position. By extending Knox rather than moving on from the deal, the Bills maintain an offensive identity they’ve established in recent years after adding Dalton Kincaid, and that’s the two-TE sets they often run, specifically in red-zone packages where Knox flourishes.

Dawson Knox’s Stats

Over the course of his career in Buffalo, Knox has appeared in more than 100 games, recording over 220 receptions for roughly 2,600 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns. Known for his athleticism and ability to create mismatches against linebackers and safeties, Knox has become a trusted red-zone target for quarterback Josh Allen.

Knox’s most productive season came in 2021, when he hauled in 49 receptions for 587 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns, helping solidify his role in Buffalo’s high-powered passing attack. While the Bills have added more weapons in recent seasons, Knox continues to contribute as both a pass catcher and a blocker in Buffalo’s offense, providing versatility at the tight end position and remaining an important part of the team’s offensive core.
