I’m officially back, and ready to bless the good people of Blitz Media with some betting picks ahead of this Friday night schedule. Since my last post on the previous Friday, not much has changed. My New York Knicks continue to find ways to repeatedly disappoint me when playing on ESPN, and the Boston Celtics appear ready to run away with another title. I digress, let’s get into it.
Klay Thompson “U” 19.5 Points (-105 on DraftKings)
At this point, I think it is safe to say that the current season for the Dallas Mavericks has not gone according to plan, not that it is anybody’s fault besides Nico Harrison. Tonight, Klay Thompson gets what I believe to be a sneaky tough defensive matchup. The Grizzlies rotate moderately well on the perimeter, making it likely difficult for Thompson to get off a quick release. Both Desmond Bane and Ja Morant will likely take turns guarding him and are both decent defenders and too quick for Thompson at this point. Of course, this could also turn into a blowout regardless, so take this under.

Donovan Mitchell “O” 23.5 Points (-115 on DraftKings)
Was a tad surprised when I saw this line this morning. For those unaware, Donovan Mitchell has repeatedly beaten up subpar teams this season, and Charlotte isn’t exactly a lockdown defensive team. That includes some recent performances of 28 against the Chicago Bulls, 26 against the Brooklyn Nets and 33 against the Washington Wizards, all within the past month. This, coupled with the possibility of a guy like Evan Mobley or Darius Garland sitting tonight makes Mitchell a safe play. I would also be comfortable taking some alt-line at 30+ or his 3s laddered.
