Official: Las Vegas Raiders Hire Klint Kubiak

The Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to terms with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to become the team’s next head coach, according to multiple reports. Kubiak (38) is set to become the 27th head coach in franchise history.

Under Kubiak, the Seattle Seahawks finished 3rd in points per game (28.4), 7th in yards per game (351.4), and 4th in yards per play (5.9). Quarterback Sam Darnold finished top-5 in passing yards (4,048) and top-10 in passing touchdowns (25). Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards.

In just one season, Kubiak helped transform Seattle’s rushing attack. The Seahawks’ run game improved from 28th in 2024 (95.7 YPG) to a top-10 unit in 2025 (123.3 YPG). Zach Charbonnet set career highs with 730 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. Running back Kenneth Walker also produced 1,000 yards on the ground. The improvement is a welcome sight for the Las Vegas Raiders, who have ranked dead last in rushing the past two seasons.

Commitment to Excellence

The Raiders pursued Ben Johnson last offseason before he ultimately signed with the Chicago Bears. The team’s plan B was legendary coach Pete Carroll, whom they hoped would bring stability to the franchise. However, the backup plan failed as the Raiders fired Carroll following a disastrous three-win season.

One year later, the arrow seems to be pointing up for the Las Vegas Raiders.

This offseason, the club has brought in coach Klint Kubiak, who many experts consider to be the top offensive mind in this year’s coaching cycle.

With coach Kubiak now at the helm and general manager John Spytek aligned with the coaching staff, the future looks bright for a franchise that has not won a playoff game in 23 years.

The Raiders are projected to have around $90M in cap space, and they currently hold 10 draft picks, including the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Raiders brass have done a ton of work on the 2026 Heisman Trophy winner and National Champion quarterback, Fernando Mendoza from the University of Indiana.

Owner Mark Davis, GM John Spytek, and Tom Brady were seen in Miami getting a close look at the 22-year-old quarterback before the National Championship.

Whether the Raiders select Mendoza with the No.1 pick remains to be seen.

Ultimately, the 2026 offseason is shaping up to be one of the biggest offseasons in franchise history.

GM John Spytek understands the magnitude and the importance of getting it right.

“We have a massive opportunity in front of us this offseason to set this organization and this franchise on a course for success and provide the results that Raider Nation and the Las Vegas community deserves and expects,” Spytek said at the end-of-season press conference on January 6th. “I think we’re all aware of all the resources that Mark [Davis] and ownership have given to us. Obviously, there’s the draft, we have capital, we have one of the greatest buildings, if not the greatest building in the NFL. There’s a lot to be excited about here.”
