Sleepers & Duds: Give some love to Love in Packers’ Week 6 matchup vs. Bengals

Sleepers & Duds Week 6

This week has that feeling that picking the correct Sleepers & Duds is going to be tough!

And when I started my research for Week 6, I found I was going to be hard-pressed to top last week’s good Sleeper plays.

Seattle’s Sam Darnold, Detroit’s David Montgomery and Miami’s Darren Waller all had big games, and Washington’s Luke McCaffrey had a big catch in the Commanders road win vs. LA Chargers.

Now for my Duds, I was way off. The Tampa Bay duo of Baker Mayfield and Emeka Egbuka had big games, while Las Vegas’ Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers (who was announced as an inactive Sunday morning) were the right calls.

Let’s try to stay hot with my top Sleeper plays for another week.

QB Sleepers

Jordan Love, Green Bay

Love is a borderline starter in most 12-team leagues, but this week he should be a no brainer for managers to start.

Cincinnati gives up just less than 19 points a game to opposing QBs this season, and those numbers could be better. Teams have resorted to the running game most of the second half of games during the Bengals’ three-game losing streak. However, the Bengals have given up 7.7 yard per pass attempt this season.

And Cincinnati has given up 37.7 points a game in their losing streak, and Green Bay enters game with a team total of 29.5.

QB Duds

Daniel Jones, Indianapolis

It’s not so much that Jones is a bad play as it is what the Colts do on offense once they get a big lead.

In their last two wins, Indianapolis has rushed for five touchdowns in the second half of victories against Tennessee and Las Vegas. And now the Colts are a 6.5-point home favorite against an Arizona team who may not have starting QB Kyler Murray (foot, game-time decision).

And Jones’ overall stats have taken a hit – he averaged more than 27 points in the Colts first two wins before struggling to score just less than 15 points in the last three games.

RB Sleepers

Hassan Haskins, LA Chargers

I think whoever wins the majority of the snaps in the Chargers backfield will be fantasy viable, and Haskins is the first guy up.

Haskins led Los Angeles in touches after Omarion Hampton left with an ankle injury that landed him on the IR.

But Haskins and Kimani Vidal (still on the practice squad) are not the best receivers out of the backfield, and Nyheim Hines was signed to the practice squad earlier this week. Hines was a prolific receiver out of the backfield with his time with the Colts and Buffalo.

The lead back in this offense is a must start.

RB Duds

James Cook, Buffalo

Cook was finally slowed down by New England after he rattled off three straight games with at least 108 rushing yards for the Bills.

But now he faces the Atlanta defense that is allowing only 11.4 fantasy points a game to RBs this season.

In his career, Cook has averaged 14.6 fantasy points on the road in out of conference games. He’s averaging 19.2 fantasy points a game this year.

WR Sleepers

Kendrick Bourne, San Francisco

Bourne has been filling the void left by injuries to the San Francisco wide receiver corps. Ricky Pearsall is out for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay, while Jauan Jennings is questionable but expected to play.

Both Pearsall and Jennings missed the 49ers big win against LA Rams.

And it was Bourne who stepped up as he caught 10 balls on 11 targets for 142 yards. Mac Jones is expected to make the start again at QB for the 49ers, and Jones has found a connection with his former New England teammate.

WR Duds

Garrett Wilson, NY Jets

It’s hard to ignore Wilson’s target share numbers and production so far in the 2025 season, but now he must face Denver and All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

Wilson has seen almost 34 percent of the Jets targets this season, but with Surtain II and a trip to London, it may spoil Wilson’s hot start to the season.

The Broncos and Surtain II have limited WRs to a combined 14.9 fantasy points a game this season.

TE Sleepers

Mitchell Evans, Carolina

Ja’Tavion Sanders was a full participant during the Panthers’ Thursday practice but fell back into the questionable designation after a limited practice on Friday. So in steps Evans if Sanders is out again for a third straight game.

Evans hasn’t put any gaudy stat lines this season but he has done something that usually puts you into TE1 range each week in fantasy football – he scores touchdowns.

The former Notre Dame standout has scored in back-to-back games for the Panthers and now faces a Dallas defense that has allowed 33 receptions to TEs this season. The Cowboys gave up 9 catches for 67 yards to Mason Taylor last weekend.

TE Duds

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo

Kincaid is coming off his first 100-yard receiving in the NFL as he had 6 catches for 108 yards in the Bills’ loss to New England last Sunday night.

And now he has two issues to deal with – an oblique injury and a stingy Atlanta defense

He was limited in all three practices with the new injury this week, and he faces a Falcons defense that has smothered TEs this season. They have allowed only 8 catches for 69 yards against tight ends in their first four games.
