Defensive Streamers: Week 7 sounds like a broken record

Defensive Streamers Week 7

We are officially a third of the way through the NFL season, and the Defensive Streamers are getting repetitive in some instances.

Play against Tennessee – check!

Play against Las Vegas – check!

Play at home against New Orleans – check!

Play against the AFC North – check!

See what I mean and I know this will change some with the Lamar Jackson returning for Baltimore and Joe Flacco is now in Cincinnati. But it seems I’m just cutting and pasting from last week’s story to write the new one.

Oh well, it’s the price to help provide some good plays from my weekly spreadsheet.

Let’s get into this week’s top Defensive Streamers!

Defensive Streamers

New England at Tennessee

As usual, it’s time to pick on the Titans offense, and now it is the time to play New England DST and keep them on your roster until their Week 14 bye.

The Patriots kick off a seven-week span of facing four offenses that are in the bottom 6 of the league in yards per game. Starting with the Titans (32nd) this week, New England faces Cleveland (Week 8, 27th), New York Jets (Week 11, 28th) and Cincinnati (Week 12, 31st).

Plus, the Titans named Mike McCoy as the interim head coach, replacing Bill Callahan. McCoy was the head coach of the Chargers from 2013-16. McCoy’s passing offenses were Top 10 each of his seasons with the Chargers, so there will be opportunities for the Patriots to take advantage of a new scheme with their pass rush. New England have recorded 13 sacks this season.

Chicago home against New Orleans

The Bears have rattled off three straight victories and return home, where their defense has played much better.

And they are facing the Saints, which helps as well.

Chicago has only given up 325 yards a game in their two home games.

Plus, the Bears score the important points when starting a defense in fantasy – sacks and turnovers. Chicago has recorded five sacks and have forced 5 turnovers in those two games.

For the season, the Bears lead the NFL in forcing 1.6 turnovers a game.

And the Saints are a much worse offense on the road than in the friendly confines of Caesars Superdome. New Orleans only averages 291 yards of total offense and 4.3 yards a play on the road, both bottom 10 stats.

Kansas City at home against Las Vegas

The Chiefs haven’t put up many big points on defense this year as they are only averaging 2.33 sacks a game this season, but like I said earlier, my Defensive Streamers is a broken record. Kansas City plays host to AFC West Division rival Las Vegas in Week 7, and the Raiders have been the perfect partner on the road this week for your weekly DST play.

Las Vegas has thrown a league-high 10 interceptions as Geno Smith has thrown an interception in all but one game this season.

And the Chiefs enter the game as a Top 10 defense in yards allowed at home. They have given up 291 yards a game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium this season. Plus, KC has added six sacks and two turnovers in its home games.
