It’s a pretty simple method to my Defensive Streamers.
I’ve been playing fantasy football for 30-plus years and there is no exact science to pick the right plays every week. But I believe statistical factors tend to be the most consistent to help narrow down my Defensive Streamers plays for the week.
Now those trends don’t always hold true, but over time, the stats don’t lie during a season.
We have enough games under our belts now that choosing the right steaming defense has becomes a lot more clear week in and week out.
Let’s get into the Week 11’s defenses!
Defensive Streamers
Houston at Tennessee
The Titans are back on the schedule after their Week 10 bye, and the Texans defense is the beneficiary.
The Texans bring the best defensive unit for yards allowed to Nissan Stadium as they have allowed 261.3 yards a game this season. They been even better in their last three games, allowing only 235.7 yards a game.
Plus, Houston has forced a turnover in every game this season except one and is coming off of a 5 sack game against Jacksonville last Sunday.
Tennessee enters the game giving up the most sacks this season in the NFL. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward has been sacked 38 times.
And the Titans have the worst offense in the league, averaging only 244.0 yards a game.
LA Chargers at Jacksonville
I know this is a West Coast team traveling to the East Coast for the early game, but the Chargers and the Jaguars seem to be going in different directions.
The Chargers defense is a Top 5 unit this season and the team’s defense anchor, Khalil Mack, seems to be getting healthier after an early season elbow injury.
Los Angeles gives up 280.2 yards a game for the season and have down right stingy in its last three. The Chargers have given up only 197.0 yards a game.
Jacksonville has struggled on offense recently. They only produced 213 yards in a road loss to Houston and have only averaged 312 yards a game in their last three. The Jaguars only averaged 324.9 yards a game for the season.
The last time the two teams faced each other was during the 2023 playoffs when the Jaguars rallied from a 27-0 second-quarter deficit to win, 31-30.
Pittsburgh home against Cincinnati
Oh, AFC North Division games in November!
Being a Steelers fan, I know this rivalry is always unpredictable as the Steelers have won only 6 of the last 10 played in Pittsburgh, but the Bengals have struggled offensively during the decade worth of games.
Cincinnati only averaged 14.7 points a game during those 10 games, and now bring a familiar quarterback opponent to Acrisure Stadium.
Joe Flacco led the Bengals to a 33-31 win earlier in Cincinnati, but the Steelers were able to sack him twice in that matchup.
But the Steelers pass rush has stepped up its play in the last two games, recording 10 sacks and forcing 6 turnovers. In his career games against Pittsburgh, Flacco has been sacked by an average 2.6 times a game.
