I’m glad I’m continuing to have a golfer in the hunt on Sundays from my Betting Guide, but the win continues to elude me.
Jackson Suber was part of the group of golfers in the Top 5 most of the final round at the John Deere Classic before struggling to find enough birdies to finish a T6.
The beauty of the chase!
The PGA Tour combines with the DP World Tour for one final event before the final major of the season – The Open Championship. The two tours hit the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open.
Chris Gotterup is the defending champion and looks to make it two weeks in a row after his win at the John Deere last week.
Let’s get into this week’s plays! All odds are from DraftKings.
Betting Guide: Bets to Win

Matt Fitzpatrick (+2100)
Matty Fitz has been a model of consistency outside of the name Scottie Scheffler on the PGA Tour this season. Fitzpatrick has two Top 5 finishes in his last three starts after a three-tournament struggle through May and June.
And he may have the best all-around game to tame the Renaissance course.
He is first in shots gained: Around the green, second in SG: Tee to green and SG: Approach and has two other Top 15 key markers I used this week on my DFS spreadsheet. He’s 13th in par-3 scoring and 15th in par-5 scoring.
And now trails Gotterup in wins for this season. Gotterup won his third event last week, while Fitzpatrick has been stuck on two wins since his RBC Heritage playoff victory over Scheffler.
Wyndham Clark (+3300)
Love him or hate him, Clark is playing some of his best golf since his great 2023 season.
Clark won his second U.S. Open title last month and turned around and finished T5 at the last signature event of the year, the Travelers Championship.
Now he returns to a course where he’s finished no worse than 25th in the last four seasons.
He’s first in par-3 scoring heading into the week as the Renaissance Club features a unique 5 par-3 layout, and he is Top 16 in SG: Tee to green and approach.
Plus, his putter is finally coming around as he ranks 25th on the Tour this season.
Nicolai Hojgaard (+4800)
Hojgaard has two Top 6 finishes in two of the last three years at the Scottish Open, and it’s his game off the tee which allows him to play well at the Renaissance Club.
He is fifth in distance off the tee this year on Tour and is a strong scorer on par 5s (15th).
The rest of his stat profile won’t wow this week, but if he can stay out trouble off the tee and get hot with the putter, he can finally nab his first PGA Tour victory after the strong DPWT career.
Top 20 with ties
Brooks Koepka (+230): Koepka hasn’t played since his cut at the U.S. Open, and if he can find a hot putter, a Top 20 finish should be in sight.
Tom Kim (+240): Kim disappointed me last week as he faded on the weekend, but he is another golfer with good success at the Renaissance Club with four straight Top 20 finishes.
One and Done
Tyrell Hatton: Since we can only use Hatton this week or next, I’m going to use him this week. He is strong off the tee and is a very streaky putter which should allow him to have a contending week.
