Week 8 DFS Plays: Plenty of building blocks to dominate your tournaments

Week 8 DFS Plays 2

Hello, boils and ghouls! (Yeah, I’m stealing the Crypt Keeper’s opening line from “Tales from the Crypt” for my DFS Plays.)

Hopefully, this Halloween edition of my top DFS plays can be more of a treat than a trick like recent weeks.

And thanks to some big matchups, there are plenty of building blocks we can use to complete our bag of goodies this week.

Let’s get into the Week 8 top plays!

DFS QB Plays

Drake Maye, New England ($6,500, 9.5 percent rostered)

Drake Maye has returned to the form that lead the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl last season.

Since a 1-2 start, Maye have averaged 31.48 DraftKings points in his last four starts, and the Miami Dolphins give up the 10th most DK points to QB this season at 20.3 points.

Two games are tied for the highest total of the week as Arizona at Dallas and Baltimore at Buffalo both have 54.5 point totals.

My spreadsheet likes both QBs in the Arizona-Dallas game as Dallas’ Dak Prescott ($6,300, 16 percent) comes with high rostered numbers. Arizona’s Jacoby Brissett ($5,700, 4.6 percent) comes with the lower price tag and lower rostered numbers.

Buffalo’s Josh Allen ($7,700, 13.4 percent) and Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson ($6,800, 5.2 percent) are fine plays, but I probably limit them to one lineup each out of my 10 builds.

DFS RB Plays

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay ($6,400, 10.8 percent rostered)

I had Bucky Irving as my top RB plays last week as well, and he didn’t disappoint with 27 DK points.

However, if the Carolina Panthers could have kept the game close, Irving could have been pushing for a 40-point week.

This week Irving and the Buccaneers face an Atlanta defense that allows 26.9 DK points to RBs this season.

Other running backs my spreadsheet likes this week are Pittsburgh’s Jaylen Warren ($6,600, 5.2 percent), New England’s Rhamondre Stevenson ($5,600, 3 percent) and Kansas City’s Kenneth Walker III ($8,800, 8 percent).

DFS WR Plays

Zay Flowers, Baltimore ($7,200, 19.3 percent rostered)

Zay Flowers may be getting to the point where he is quarterback-proof for the Ravens.

But this week, Jackson is expected to return to under center and the duo have been electric together. Flowers has caught 18 passes for 352 yards and 2 TDs from Jackson this season.

Plus, the Bills have been awful vs. WRs this season, giving up 43.3 DK points a game.

The New York Jets’ rookie Omar Cooper Jr. ($4,800, 4.9 percent) leads my spreadsheet’s WR list, and other top plays are both Cincinnati WRs, Ja’Marr Chase ($7,700, 18.1 percent) and Tee Higgins ($6,700, 9.6 percent) and Detroit’s Jameson Williams ($6,000, 1.6 percent). If D.J. Moore ($5,700, 22.5 percent) plays he is the Buffalo play over Keon Coleman ($5,100, 1.2 percent).

TE DFS Plays

Hunter Henry, New England ($4,300, 3.9 percent rostered)

Hunter Henry is my first click to pair up with Maye, but the Patriots’ back-up TE Eli Raridon ($3,300. 0.9 percent) gives you nice lower priced, lower rostered piece for your lineup.

The Dolphins allow the second most DK points to TEs this season at 21.6 points so there plenty points available for a New England TE to have a big day.

Other TE plays are Minnesota’s T.J. Hockenson ($4,600, 5 percent), Atlanta’s Kyle Pitts ($4,500, 0.9 percent) and Jacksonville’s Brenton Strange ($4,000, 10.9 percent).

DST DFS Plays

Cincinnati (home against Tennessee, $3,800, 7.9 percent)

TrophySmack - Gear Up Your League

Jacksonville (home against Indianapolis, $3,700, 4.6 percent)

Pittsburgh (home against Cleveland, $3,300, 6.8 percent)
