Welcome to NFL Week 12 Buy or Sell! This is either your last week to trade or second-to-last week to make trades, so listen up! We may be approaching the time when you need to decide whether to win your league or not. Plug those holes and buy or sell players that will make your team better for the stretch run. This comes down to trading for depth or trading from depth to fill out that lackluster RB2.
Week 12 Buys
Ladd McConkey
Ladd McConkey, since week 5, has been a top 18 WR. He has put up three WR1 performances and finished as a WR2 in all but two of the last 7 weeks of football. He has been great, but against the Jaguars, he only had 3 catches for 13 yards, which is an extremely disappointing line after what he has shown since the calendar turned to October. The entire team of the Chargers played horribly in an abysmal all-important game.
McConkey is an Important part of what the Chargers due to be successful, and I do not anticipate this level of struggle to continue for the rest of the season. McConkey is a great WR2 option to have in your fantasy lineup and has the potential to be a WR1. Sell players like Rome Odunze, Quinshon Judkins, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are all ranked similarly.
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson broke out in a big way against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football. Now, you would usually not try to trade for someone based on a 3-touchdown game, but his talent is finally starting to show. After an offseason of positive speculation, it is now coming true. Henderson may not have the entirety of the workload with Rhamondre Stevenson planning on returning at some point in the near future; you may be able to convince the Henderson owner that it will return to what it was before the injury. Henderson is a league winner this year, and trading for him now will potentially win you your league.
The players listed to trade him for are ranked around him, but you may have to pay up coming off the big performance: DK Metcalf, DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Warren, Tee Higgins, and Rome Odunze.
RJ Harvey
Welp… J.K. Dobbins‘ injury hit us again, just like it always does. Unfortunately for Dobbins, he was turning in another nice season when he was sidelined, but for fantasy, Harvey is the better back. Harvey had a lackluster debut as the lead back in Denver, but it was in a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos pulled off, but not because of their ground game. Harvey was 11 for 30 yards and 3 receptions for 20 yards. This is nothing to ride home about, but in the future, I anticipate things to improve.
We have seen Harvey be explosive this season, and the best is yet to come. Players ranked similarly around Harvey that I would trade for him are as follows: D’Andre Swift, Tetairoa McMilan, Chris Olave, Coutland Sutton, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Jameson Williams.
Week 12 Sells
Saquon Barkley
I give up on the Philadelphia Eagles… I know exactly what they are, but at the same time, I still have hope. This, by nature, is not giving up, but let’s just say I am out on Saquon Barkley for the rest of this year. The Eagles just laid an offensive egg on Sunday Night Football. They couldn’t run the ball while also not being able to pass. They were trying to feed A.J. Brown, which was great, but I was very thrown off as to why they couldn’t throw it to anyone else?!
Saquon Barkley is a shell of his near-MVP self last season. His weekly stat line is around 18 touches for 65 yards and maybe a touchdown. This is not the player we drafted in the first round. Trade him, because he is still ranked inside the top-15 of players, and I would rather have a lot of other guys than him right now.
Tetairoa McMillan
Tetairoa McMillan is a guy I have been saying to buy quite literally for the entire season, so one game out of his 30-point blow-up, I am telling you to sell him? Yes, I am. McMillan to me is a 13-18 point guy a week, even with Bryce Young. But Bryce Young had a career day against the Atlanta Falcons, throwing for nearly 450 yards. McMillan can get you back a potentially more consistent player tied to a more consistent quarterback. If you are in the position to do so, trade for Omarion Hampton. He will be ranked inside the top 30 of players once he is back, and currently, he is ranked behind McMillan. Hampton could be a league winner for people who can acquire him before deadline day.
Justin Jefferson
Obviously, Justin Jefferson is one of the most coveted assets in fantasy football, but currently, why is he tied to J.J. McCarthy, and aside from about 3 quarters of football this season, McCarthy has been horrible. I do not like the potential floor that McCarthy could be giving Jefferson each week. For that reason alone, I am including Jefferson in my sell list. Trade him for any elite player above him in ECR rankings if you can, or players like Kyren Williams and Derrick Henry.
