Risers & Fallers After Week 5

Week 5 of the NFL season concludes tonight when two juggernaut offenses take the field: the Buffalo Bills vs. the Los Angeles Rams. Beyond those teams, let’s look at the risers and fallers from yesterday’s matchups.

Risers

Rodgers has been a consistent QB, but is he worth starting now? Depending on your QB situation, absolutely. Rodgers is playing some of his best football since he was a Packer; no joke, this is the first time since 202- that he’s had three straight 20-plus-point games despite injuries to the Steelers’ receiving corps.

Hold, having a QB on your bench scoring 20 a week is invaluable, and so long as this continues, you can start Rodgers over your starter if your current guy has a rough matchup. Don’t overlook Rodgers on waivers either; he’s not rostered in 22% of leagues!

Back-to-back Steelers to start the day off. I know it’s wild, but the Steelers are a rollercoaster, and I’m here for the ride this season. Warren has been producing RB1 numbers since Rico Dowdle went down. Over the last three games, Jaylen Warren has 490 total yards, 163 per game for context. Bijan Robinson is averaging 153 yards per game. Warren has had an insane run.

Buy: Warren will undoubtedly remain a large part of this offense. While it may not be 90-plus percent of snaps, I envision him at a 75% snap share when Dowdle returns.

Honorable mention to Jameis Winston, who narrowly missed the list, but Nabers started the season so, so quiet, and the last two weeks have given fantasy managers a sigh of relief. Malik Nabers has 233 receiving yards over the past two games, with a TD in each. He is clearly Winston’s primary target, earning 27 targets in the last two games.

Buy if you need a WR and someone in your league is 1-4 or 0-5, partly due to Nabers’ poor start and the team’s issues; I’ll do what I can to get Nabers. Not many will be selling, but it doesn’t hurt to try!

Two Pittsburgh Steelers and two New York Giants. I’ll be honest: I didn’t think many earned a spot on the “rise” list besides Likely and Arizona Cardinals TE Teagan Quitoriano, who’s rostered in 0% of leagues. Anyways, Likely had me worried after Jaxon Dart’s injury, but like Nabers, Likely has been one of Winston’s favorite targets, with 25 targets over the past two games and 160 yards and two TDs in that span.

Hold, because I don’t think anyone’s willing to sell. Unlike WRs, it’s hard to find a TE who produces, and as long as Likely is getting this many targets week to week, you gotta hold him, and nobody will sell him.

Fallers

It’s starting to look like some of us got fooled following that three-game stretch of good fantasy production. Watson has under 16 points in each of his last two games and only one TD in each, not something you wanna see if you’re starting Watson at 12%, myself included. However, my defense is in a SuperFlex league, and Caleb Williams was out.

Sell. Nobody’s gonna buy Watson, but you’re in a SuperFlex dynasty league; you can get a late pick for him!

A New York Giant finds himself on the other side of the list today: Cam Skattebo is falling fast. Skattebo has yet to have a 100-yard rushing game, has fewer than 10 points in three of his last four games, and his best game was only 13 points in Week 1.

Sell! Sell! Sell! I am so out on Skattebo, and this may be a week late, but if you can get a solid WR for him, do it ASAP. The Giants are clearly prioritizing the passing game, and with Winston at QB, they aren’t gonna be running the clock out in most games.

Rome Odunze just isn’t breaking out; if Head Coach Ben Johnson can’t scheme plays for him, don’t know what else to say. Odunze has only one game this season wherhe’s’s scored over 8 points and caught over 3 passes. That was Week 4 against the Jets defense. I think I’m out on Odunze for the foreseeable future, though Ben Johnson’s offense and Caleb Williams returning soon may spark him.

Buy, and yes, I’m 96% out on him; if he can turn it around when Caleb Williams returns, he’s worth it. You can get him so cheap right now, and at most he’s a bench WR value-wise who could turn into a flex guy you start for bye weeks or injuries later in the year, but it all comes down to how cheap you can get him and if Caleb Williams’ return makes that much of an impact.

Jake Ferguson finished the 2025 season as the TE5; he’s missed three of the first five games this season and scored fewer than 5 fantasy points. This is because CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are healthy, so Ferguson gets only a few receptions per game and is essentially irrelevant in fantasy.

Sell: He’s rostered in 76% of leagues, so last season’s value is clearly keeping him high. Get any return you can for him, since he won’t start with Lamb and Pickens healthy.
