If your leagues were anything like mine, what happened last week is the just the opposite. But it still doesn’t stop our search for great Waiver Wire Stashes for Week 3.
After starting the season 2-4 in my six leagues, I’m will most likely finish the week 4-2, flipping my league records in the process.
But as for my stashes last week – New York Giants‘ Jaxson Dart is still riding the bench, Indianapolis‘ D.J. Giddens didn’t get a touch, Atlanta‘s Casey Washington went on IR and Cleveland‘s Harold Fannin Jr. tied for a team-high for receptions for Cleveland.
Let’s get into this week’s group!
RB Waiver Wire Stashes
Bhayshul Tuten, Jacksonville (55 percent Yahoo!, 44 percent ESPN, 45 percent Sleeper)
Tuten finally had the opportunity after the Jaguars traded Tank Bigsby to Philadelphia after Week 1. And Tuten didn’t disappoint with his chance.
After only playing 6 percent of the snaps in Week 1, Tuten played 18 snaps (25 percent) and touched the ball 10 times in the loss to Cincinnati.
He finished with 8 rushes for 42 yards and added 2 catches for 32 yards and a touchdown.
For the season, he’s averaged 4.8 yards a carry, and now gives the Travis Etienne Jr. a quality back-up.
WR Waiver Wire Stashes
Troy Franklin, Denver (3 percent Yahoo!, 2 percent ESPN, 8 percent Sleeper)
I believe Franklin’s rostered numbers are going to change drastically after Sunday’s big game. He had 8 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ last second loss to Indianapolis.
For the season, he has 12 catches for 133 yards and the one touchdown, but he leads the team in targets with a target share of 22.4 percent. And he leads the team in red zone targets with 3.
Courtland Sutton is still the No. 1 option in the Denver offense, but Franklin’s familiarity with Bo Nix (they were teammates at Oregon) may give the second-year WR a chance to overtake the top WR spot.
Elic Ayomanor, Tennessee (8 percent Yahoo!, 4 percent ESPN, 28 percent Sleeper)
Ayomanor may not have big numbers on the usual stat sheets, but if we dig a little deeper to see why he is a great stash.
The rookie fourth-round draft pick out of Stanford only has 4 catches for 56 yards and a touchdown, but he leads the Titans with 205 air yards and a 23 target share (13 targets).
He continues to prove why Tennessee head coach Bill Callahan gave him a starting spot to go with No. 1 pick quarterback Cam Ward.
