As Week 17 wraps up, fantasy managers are either celebrating unexpected heroes or lamenting underwhelming performances in the fantasy championship for most. There were some big boom performances, and for some, proving to be league-winners. But on the flip side, some trusted starters busted and couldn’t keep up.
Let’s break down the biggest surprises and disappointments from this week’s action this week, as fantasy championships were won and lost on these boom-bust performances, as the 2025 fantasy season comes to a close.
Surprises of Week 17
- Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Fantasy Points: 39.9 – PPR
Why It’s Surprising: While Bijan Robinson has been solid and consistent all-season, he saved his best performance for last, with a season-high day on the ground and through the air, fantasy-wise. The Falcons‘ star almost had 200 yards on the ground (195) with 2 total touchdowns (along with 5 catches) vs. the Rams on Monday Night. He took his managers to the promised land if they were in the championship this week.
- Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Fantasy Points: 45.6– PPR
Why It’s Surprising: The King delivered massively with a career fantasy day, likely winning your league if his managers were in the championship. It is unclear why Derrick Henry wasn’t used like this before, but 34 carries, 215 yards on the ground, and 4 touchdowns is an all-time performance as a Raven against the Packers.
League-Winners for Championship Week

- Brock Purdy, Jake Tonges (TE), and Christian McCaffrey (QB) San Francisco 49ers
- Drake Maye (QB), Stefon Diggs (WR), and Rhamondre Stevenson (RB) New England Patriots
- Chase Brown (RB) and Ja’Marr Chase (WR) Cincinnati Bengals
- Luther Burden III (WR), Colston Loveland (TE) and D’Andre Swift (RB) Chicago Bears
- Zach Charbonnet (RB) Seattle Seahawks
- Chris Olave (WR) New Orleans Saints
- Jaxson Dart (QB) and Wan’Dale Robinson (WR) New York Giants
- Chris Godwin (WR) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Trey McBride (TE) and Michael Wilson (WR) Arizona Cardinals
- Christian Watson (WR) and Malik Willis (QB) Green Bay Packers
- Michael Mayer (TE) Las Vegas Raiders
- Parker Washington (WR) Jacksonville Jaguars
- Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB) Washington Commanders
- Breece Hall (RB) New York Jets
- Omarion Hampton (RB) Los Angeles Chargers
Disappointments of Week 17
- Ashton Jeanty, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
Fantasy Points: 9.3-PPR
Why It’s Disappointing: The Giants were a smash matchup vs. running backs, and Ashton Jeanty was coming off his second career high game as a rookie. The rookie running back in a tough offensive environment underperformed, but that has been most of his season in Las Vegas, even vs. a weak New York run defense.
- Josh Jacobs (RB) Green Bay Packers
Fantasy Points: 1.3– PPR
Why It’s Disappointing: While he was banged up heading into Saturday’s matchup vs. the Ravens, it was not reported that his snap count would be limited in any way. Although the Packers were down early, it was a back-and-forth until the 4th quarter, as Green Bay could’ve used Josh Jacobs more in the receiving game, like vs. Denver, but he had just 3 total yards and just 5 total touches the whole game. This was a brutal beat.
Bust Performances
- Devonta Smith (WR), Jalen Hurts (QB), and Saquon Barkley (RB) Philadelphia Eagles
- Kenneth Walker III (RB) Seattle Seahawks
- Emeka Egbuka (WR) and Bucky Irving (TB) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Tetairoa McMillan (WR) Carolina Panthers
- Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce (WR) Indianapolis Colts
- Michael Carter (RB) Arizona Cardinals
- Taysom Hill (TE) New Orleans Saints
- Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR) Arizona Cardinals
- Kyle Pitts (TE) and Drake London (WR) Atlanta Falcons
- Jahmyr Gibbs (RB) , Jared Goff (QB), and Jameson Williams (WR) Detroit Lions
- Ladd McConkey (WR) Los Angeles Chargers
- Matthew Stafford (QB) Los Angeles Rams
