Week 7 Waiver Wire Stashes: Get Rams promising TE Ferguson before it’s too late

Week 7 Waiver Wire Stashes

Every once in a while, waiver wire stashes can make their presence felt immediately or for the rest of the season.

As most only have weekly upside as injuries and byes send managers scrambling for that one longshot to make a difference in our matchups.

But this week, there is one player who could have an impact for the rest of the season for our fantasy teams. And now is the time to get him!

Let’s get into the Week 6 Stashes!

Waiver Wire Stashes

Terrance Ferguson, Los Angeles Rams (13 percent on Yahoo!, 81 percent on Sleeper)

And the Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson is the one you need to roster now before he returns from IR.

I try to keep the stashes to less than 50 percent, but Ferguson’s rostered numbers on Sleeper is based on all the dynasty teams that use the site for their leagues.

But managers in Sleeper may want to take a chance on a trade for Ferguson before he returns from IR in Week 8.

But here is the reason why Ferguson is must have right now.

When Puka Nacua missed his first game in Week 2, Ferguson was second on the Rams with a 30 percent target share, just behind Davante Adams’ 33 percent.

Ferguson had 6 catches on 9 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.

When Ferguson returns to the lineup, Adams will be in the midst of missing up to 10 games with his hamstring injury. And quarterback Matthew Stafford has continued to target the tight ends with Ferguson out of the lineup.

Seven to 8 targets could be on Ferguson’s way when he’s back on the field.

Zonovan “Bam” Knight, Arizona (0.1 percent on Yahoo!, 0.1 percent on Sleeper)

RB Zonovan “Bam” Knight is a player for deeper leagues.

Knight, who has played well in spurts for the Cardinals last season, gives added depth to your team if you have Jeremiyah Love or Tyler Allgeier on your roster.

Love had not been 100 percent since injuring his ankle during training camp and was held out of the Cardinals’ Week 6 upset of the LA Rams.

Knight stepped in and combined with Allgeier to rush for 118 yards in the victory.

Knight had 15 carries for 80 yards, while Allgeier had 38 yards on 18 carries. Allgeier led the way, playing 56 percent of snaps, while Knight played 44 percent.

Mike Washington Jr., Las Vegas (30 percent on Yahoo!, 35 percent roster on Sleeper)

Are we finally going to see some more work for Mike Washington Jr.?

The Raiders rookie RB played his most snaps of the season at 35 percent last week, cruising pass his previous high of 21 percent in Week 4.

And he produced on Sunday. He finished with 9 carries for 43 yards and 1 catch for 7 yards as he touched the ball on 43 percent of his snaps.

Plus, starting running back Ashton Jeanty is still battling foot issues (sprain and plantar fasciitis flare-up), and maybe the Raiders coaching staff begins to look for spark in the running ground during their three-game losing streak.

Pierre Strong Jr., Green Bay (1 percent on Yahoo!, 2 percent roster on Sleeper)

Yes, Josh Jacobs has been removed from the Commissioner’s Exempt List and expected to practice this week.

It may be a week or 2 before he plays in a game, and this makes Pierre Strong Jr. a candidate as a stash or a spot starter.

Strong Jr. made the most of his opportunities during the Packers’ Sunday Night win against the Dallas Cowboys. He led the Packers with 11 carries for 28 yards and added 5 catches on 6 targets for 39 yards. He also led the running back in snaps at 55 percent.
