The beauty of playing DFS is it is a one-week season.
Baltimore’s Zay Flowers burned a lot of managers in regular season and DFS last week, but the regular season managers were stuck with him for the Thursday’s debacle against Jacksonville. DFS managers just moved on to the new week’s list of players.
I would have avoided Flowers completely this week if he was DraftKings’ Main Slate for having to play with a third-string quarterback against the Jaguars talented defense.
Well enough of last week, let’s get into our Week 9 plays!
QB DFS Plays
Malik Willis, Miami ($5,100, 4.5 percent rostered)
This doesn’t happen very often as I comb through the spreadsheet to find my top plays for the week.
But this week, 3 of my 4 top plays are also the top value plays. And 4th one is second in his grouping.
We start off with the Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis.
Yes, he’s not going to wow you with a big passing game, but he does provide you scoring from his rush game.
And they are facing a Detroit Lions DST that has allowed a league-leading 27.1 DK points to quarterbacks this season.
Other quarterbacks who are in my current player pool this week are Detroit’s Jared Goff ($6,600, 5.5 percent) and San Francisco’s Brock Purdy ($6,800, 6.9 percent).
My finalized list may get a little longer by Sunday morning as the ownership numbers are pretty spread out for QBs this week, and it’s going to be hard to ignore the QBs in the $4K range for lineup building benefits.
RB DFS Plays
Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco ($8,000 68.3 percent rostered)
I know Christian McCaffrey comes into the week with some injury issues, even after the 49ers’ bye week.
But he faces a Las Vegas defense that just allowed the New York Jets’ Braelon Allen rush for 147 yards and 1 TD last week. The Raiders have given up 26.4 DK points to RBs this season.
Now my RB player pool list is pretty compact this week and I’m not afraid of Detroit’s Jahmyr Gibbs price tag ($10,000, 38.4 percent). The rest of the group is Indianapolis’ Jonathan Taylor ($7,500, 4.6 percent, there rumors of a limited workload for Taylor, be cautious); Dallas’ Javonte Williams ($7,300, 16.3 percent); Carolina’s Chuba Hubbard ($6,500, 5.8 percent); New England’s Rhamondre Stevenson ($6,100, 1.9 percent); and Denver’s Jonah Coleman ($5,300, 12.3 percent).
WR DFS Play
Malik Nabers, New York Giants ($7,300, 8.7 percent rostered)
It’s hard to ignore the amount of targets Malik Nabers has seen this season for the Giants.
He has accumulated 70 targets season and has only been below a 26 percent target share once this season.
Now he faces a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has allowed 40.7 DK points to WRs this season. The Eagles have allowed 103 receptions, for 1,470 yards and 10 TDs to the WR position.
My short list of other WRs the spreadsheet likes this week are: Detroit’s Jameson Williams ($6,100, 7 percent), New England’s DeMario Douglas ($4,800, 2.7 percent), Philadelphia’s Makai Lemon ($4,700, 1 percent), Cleveland’s KC Concepcion Jr. ($4,600, 6.6 percent) and Miami’s Caleb Douglas ($4,200, 3.7 percent).
TE DFS Play
Greg Dulcich, Miami ($3,100, 5.5 percent rostered)
The Dolphins’ Greg Dulcich leads a very tight player pool this week at TE.
Dulcich gets the chance to continue to expose the Lions’ secondary as Detroit has given up 28.3 DK points to TEs this season.
The rest of my TE player pool are: Arizona’s Trey McBride ($7,700, 2.2 percent), San Francisco’s George Kittle ($6,000, 10 percent), Cleveland’s Harold Fannin Jr. ($4,700, 4.1 percent) and NY Jets’ Mason Taylor ($3,100, 2.9 percent).
DST DFS Play
Kansas City (home against New York Jets, $3,700, 5.8 percent rostered)
Houston (at Los Angeles Chargers, $3,500, 4.4 percent rostered)
Arizona (at Seattle, $2,000, 1.8 percent rostered)
