Welcome to NFL Week 10 Hot Takes. This week, we have some fun ones, as this week has some really fun individual matchups in fantasy football. I am extremely excited to share what I have come up with. We are hot calling the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ victory against the Indianapolis Colts. They might have read the article last week as a form of a hype video. Let’s see what we can cook up this week.
Hot Take #1
Jonathan Taylor vs. Bijan Robinson… A Let Down?
It’s one of the most fun matchups this week for fantasy football: Bijan Robinson vs. Jonathan Taylor. Yep, arguably the RB 1 and RB 2 in all of the land so far this season are squaring off against each other. As exciting as this is, it makes me nervous for the actual matchup itself.
The Colts and Atlanta Falcons have good run defenses, now neither of them showcases as the 1985 Chicago Bears, but they are formidable opposition to the young studs at RB. Both have good run defenses, the better being the Colts. Also, the Colts are coming off a loss that is absolutely devastating to their momentum. The perception of the Colts going into last week’s matchup is that they had to win that game to prove their legitimacy, but they didn’t, and now there are a lot of questions surrounding quarterback Daniel Jones as well as the team as a whole. This affected Jonathan Taylor’s performance last week, where he nearly had numbers comparable to most quarters he’s played this season.
This game also means a lot to the Atlanta Falcons. They are coming off of two incredibly tough losses that, quite honestly, have landed them on lots of folks’ naughty lists as we head into the Christmas season. Bijan Robinson needs to carry the offense. If he sets the tone early, the Falcons can really be explosive and exciting. I hope that we are able to see a potential battle between arguably the two best running backs in fantasy, but something tells me it will be a letdown. Let’s hope that it is not.
Hot Take #2
Quinshon Judkins RB1 This Week
Quinshon Judkins has been so much fun to watch play football this season. If you were able to get him late in drafts this year. He is serving as a steal in your RB2 spot heading down the stretch. Just when you think things can’t get any better for the rookie Judkins, they are taking on the horrendous and depleted New York Jets. The Jets just had a fire sale on their best defensive players, Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. With Williams headed to Dallas, there is a hole right up the middle where Judkins likes to run, priming him for a showcase this week.
Judkins has had four out of 7 games where he has scored over 10 fantasy points, and in three of those, it has been over 15. He has the upside to become an RB1 in this league, but for now, it is all about this week and his path to being an RB1. The Jets have not been as good a run defense this season. So, for this team to put up a fight without their two best players, forget defensive players, will be tough. I think that the most difficult part for Judkins will be whether Dillon Gabriel can be good enough. He has been less than stellar heading into his sixth start. Judkins has the physical ability to do the job. The Browns just have to be the Browns a little (not be that great), and they will keep Judkins in the game to go nuts and become the RB1 overall this week in fantasy football.
Hot Take #3
Tampa Bay vs. New England: GOTW
My prediction for the game of the week is going to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots. Both teams have played exceptionally well this year. The Patriots found their Tom Brady replacement, and the Buccaneers have persevered through their injury bug all season. This matchup has a couple of big storylines for fantasy this week. Bucky Irving is supposed to come back against the best run defense in the NFL. Emeka Egbuka matches up against Christian Gonzalez, only a week after he got tormented against Drake London. Does Rhamondre Stevenson come back for the Patriots and supplant TreVeyon Henderson again? Or does the Patriots’ third-string RB have a chance at the goal line? The fantasy QB matchup should be interesting as well. Baker Mayfield and Drake Maye have been lighting it up all season. I think that this will be the fantasy matchup to watch this week and should be a good one.
