Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers After Week 4

Another week of NFL football wraps up tonight. From injuries to breakout performances, I’ve got you covered on who’s rising and falling following Week 4.

Risers

The Raiders were oh so close to a flawless 4-0 start, but they are 3-1, and Kirk Cousins is sitting at QB6 this season. Cousins is rostered in only 40% of leagues, and with injuries stacking up, he’s a sneaky option.

Hold: despite Cousins not being rostered in most leagues, having a dependable backup QB who can step in and give you 20 if your starter goes down is invaluable.

Wilson had a productive 2-touchdown performance Sunday after rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price was placed on IR. While fellow veteran Zach Charbonnet is now in his 21-day window, Wilson has proven he can be a 1B for Charbonnet when he’s back.

Hold, could Wilson be the bell cow for the next week or two? Yes, but even in the best-case scenario, he becomes 1B with Charbonnet, and that will turn into solid production on your bench.

It’s time I give some bigger names some love, and Tetairoa McMillan just had more receptions in Week 4 than he did in the first 3 Weeks combined. McMillan finished Sunday with 14 receptions, 192 yards, and 2TDs, currently the WR1 of the week aside from whatever happens in tonight’s Saints-Falcons game.

Sell, this one hurts to say because the Carolina Panthers’ passing game has been so strong to start the season, but this performance happened while Jalen Coker was out. Will we see McMillan do this consistently when Coker is back? I don’t know, so if you can sell high right now, I would, as this could very well be the highest he’s worth, value-wise, all season.

As the TE2 on the Las Vegas Raiders and already the 2nd Raider featured today, Mayer is playing well and seeing significant time with Bowers on the field. In the last two games, he’s had over 10 fantasy points, and on Sunday he finished with 8 receptions to Bowers’ 6.

Buy if you have Bowers; you can easily buy Mayer cheap, ap and I think his value could skyrocket if Bowers can’t stay healthy. I would saybest-case, best-case scenario, Mayer is traded at the deadline and becomes a TE1, but he recently signed a 3-year, $45M extension.

Fallers

It’s been rough for everyone in Miami, as Willis was seen as having at least some fantasy potential, mostly due to his mobility. Still, it hasn’t helped him enough to overcome his poor passing performances. Through 4 weeks, he has 2 total TDs, and this past Sunday, Willis was 9/17 for 85 yards passing, 96 yards total- that’s right, 96 total yards from a mobile QB. I guess I can’t be too hard on him, as half of you reading this could play wideout for the Dolphins.

Every year, every single year since Corum entered the league, all I heard each offseason was that he’s the underrated pick and he’s gonna take over Kyren Williams ‘ role, etc. He’s got 6 fantasy points combined in the last 2 weeks, while averaging less than 3 yards per carry. He’s a good RB2 on the Rams, but he’s not Williams.

Hold, Corum remains one of the best handcuffs in the game despite his recent play.

The stars were aligned for Josh Downs to have a big day; Alec Pierce and Keenan Allen were both out, but Downs still managed only 3 receptions for 16 yards. The Colts are going to move on from Downs sooner rather than later, and if they fall off, maybe Downs finds himself being traded at the deadline in an effort to recuperate some draft capital.

Sell, if you can, for a decent handcuff on a team that needs WR depth.

There is nothing I hate more than inconsistent players, and Sadiq has been exactly that through 4 weeks. After his Week 3 breakout, Sadiq had 4 targets for 0 receptions on Sunday and now has 3 or fewer receptions in 4 games.

Sell, maybe last week was a fluke, maybe it wasn’t, but last week I said to hold Sadiq because I was hesitant, but if you get a good offer, I’d take the deal. Jets players always scare me in my lineup.
