Sleepers & Duds: Brissett looks to continue strong play for Cardinals in Week 10

Sleepers & Duds Week 10

We are on the final stretch of the fantasy football season with our Sleepers & Duds plays.

Last week’s group of players didn’t live up, or down, to their monikers, and I’m looking to provide some better players for our games heading into the playoffs.

Let’s keep it simple and short and get into our Week 10 selections!

QB Sleepers

Jaocby Brissett, Arizona

Brissett has improved the Cardinals receiving corps stat productive since he took over for the injured Kyler Murray in Week 6. He is averaging 286.7 yards passing and 2 TD passes a game in his three starts.

He has averaged 7.74 yards per attempt and he’s made Trey McBride a touchdown scoring machine (4 in the last three games) to go along with highly efficient stat lines.

Plus, Marvin Harrison Jr. has seen 18 targets in Brissett’s three game under center, and the Cardinals are averaging 25.7 points a game in those starts.

QB Duds

Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta

It’s so hard to pick a dud with it comes to quarterbacks, week in and week out.

Penix Jr. is the guy this week as he’s facing a defense that has recorded 26 sacks this season.

Indianapolis is coming off a disappointing road loss to Pittsburgh in Week 9, and after its first loss of the season, the Colts dominated Las Vegas, 40-6, in Week 5.

RB Sleepers

Isaiah Davis, NY Jets

Davis continues to chip away at Breece Hall’s snap numbers as the Hall holds about a 55-45 snap breakdown the last two weeks.

And Davis hasn’t disappointed in his limited touches. He’s averaged 8.33 yards a carry and added 5 receptions for 66 yards in the Jets’ last two games.

The road to continued success may be tough against the Cleveland defense this week, but he’s getting enough touches to be an efficient viable spot starter on deep starting rosters.

RB Duds

Kenneth Walker III, Seattle

Walker III continues to split carries with Zach Charbonnet, and Walker III was the low end of snap count, by a good margin, during the Seahawks’ Sunday Night win against Washington.

However, Walker may have outrushed Charbonnet against the Commanders, but Walker III is getting very little in the passing game. Plus, Charbonnet is getting the goalline work, scoring twice in Week 7 against Houston.

Walker III is more of flex play after starting the season as a solid RB2 pick.

WR Sleepers

Mack Hollins, New England

With Kayshon Boutte officially out for the Patriots’ game at Tampa Bay, Hollins may be the beneficiary of his targets this week.

DeMario Douglas was the main target last week, but the Patriots have a history of disturbing the wealth among their wide receivers.

Hollins, who is 6th on the Patriots in target shares, saw the most snaps last week when Boutte went down with his hamstring injury, and Hollins had seen the second highest snap rate among the Patriots’ WRs the two games before Week 9.

WR Duds

Jakobi Meyers, Jacksonville

Meyers’ trade to the Jaguars should go well for him in the long run, but in the short run, he may struggle in his first game with his new team.

Houston comes into game as one of the stingiest defense against WR fantasy scoring this season. The Texans give up 27.0 points a game to the WR position, and Meyers has had limited time to get up to speed with the Jaguars offense.

Plus, there may not be too many offensive fireworks as the game total is only 37.5 points, tied for the lowest in the NFL the weekend.

TE Sleepers

A.J. Barner, Seattle

Barner has quietly put together a solid fantasy season for a TE. He’s tied for 6th with 4 receiving TDs and he added a rushing TD last Sunday.

He played in 78 percent or more snaps in every game except one, and could be a nice spot starter with Jake Ferguson, Travis Kelce and Noah Fant off this week.

Barner’s stats may not wow you, but a TE scoring a TD may be the difference in winning or losing in fantasy football.

TE Duds

Tyler Warren, Indianapolis

Warren is coming off his second worse fantasy day of the season in the Colts’ lost to Pittsburgh in Week 9.

And now he faces an Atlanta defense that has shut down TEs this season. The Falcons have given up just 5.3 points a game to the TE position this season.

Could we be seeing an early rookie wall for Warren?
